I love your tutorials, so thank you. One I watched yesterday reminded us to always finish a painting. I had one I did two days ago and when i had to stop to let the paint dry, i was quite dissatisfied with it. However, I went back to it today and finished it, and i am quite pleased! It is impressionist style, so it's not really my cup of tea as I prefer more sedate paintings, but i still like it and appreciate why that sort of painting should be done to improve your techniques. Thank you for your very sage advice!

Always good information provided in most usable way. I’ve avoided putting buildings in my drawings because I ended up with so many vanishing point lines that I absolutely confused myself about where the actual walls went. I think I can do it the way you demonstrated

I think I have made most of these mistakes at one time or another. You can always redo a painting and call your flubbed up painting a color study. Live and learn! I think the one I do the most is not doing thumbnail sketches enough as well as a thorough color study.

On days I don't have time for a full painting I'll do a thumbnail to remind me. There's less detail. Using it in composition is great 👍. This is going on view later as well. There are so many valuable tips I'll need to do a replay at a later date. Thank you ❤

Very useful tips will definitely work these into my work. I find as I get further into a drawing my pencil pressure increases. I have creased many pages of sketch book paper in a single stroke. You would think constantly reminding myself would do the trick but the hand stays defiant.

I haven't made any of these mistakes in a long time, but what I never thought about is taking a line out to a corner. I never thought about using an embossing tool, but that is a good idea. I've done the Bob Ross style of painting for years so I just painted everything and haven't drawn or used any kind of pencil since high school, so all of these colored pencil tips are really useful. Thanks for this.

Thanks Michelle. I like to put streams in my landscape paintings but they always looked off. I knew the water needs to look horizontal but I’d not get the curves correct. At some point I’d have a section that would come down vertically and it would look off and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Now I know.

I had set today aside to do some art, but procrastinating over what to do. This covered more than one subject I have trouble with, so time we'll spent. I do love the trick using a strip of paper to get the right size for objects. Will be using that. I also have had lots of problems with getting my paths and waterways looking natural in the landscape. This will certainly help. Thank you for your 'cat approved' tutorials. I really like them

Hi Michele Good to see you. Thank you so much for these tips. Yeah I made all these mistakes. Now for my big confession. I just did a seascape/ beachscape painting and it was well... Your sin worthy of a lifetime imprisonment. 😅😅😅😅 This seascape I'm afraid was these waves lapping up on a beach. Not too bad you might say. But I was trying to make these ripples on the water and somewhere along the line this big acryllic lump was stuck in the middle of the water. Nomatter what I did with it to try to blend it out it would not budge. Well I tried to make a boat out of this big lump with 2 people in it and now it looks these two in it are heading for a crash into the mountain.! Because I had to direct the bloody boat toward this great big lump thats supposed to be a mountain. You could argue the one steering the boat is a lousy driver. That's my excuse!. I blame it on him. But the way the lump of white acryllic was facing I couldn't make the boat turn any other way. 😅😅😅. Well I tried! Unless he's well able to steer it around the mountain or better still up on the beach. Either way this is looks like a disaster waiting to happen.😅😅😅 I think it would be hard labour along with life imprisonment if they crash on either place. They might be clearing the beach just that little bit too early! . So far they haven't moved any further so I might be left out on bail. 😅😅😅. I wouldn't mind but I was happy enough with the rest of it and it seemed a shame to throw it away. So I tried to disguise this nasty lump into a boat. With 2 nutters inside it! Maybe I should try again. They were coming very near to the beach. Maybe I should have cut my losses and dumped it. 😅. That said. A thumbnail would have been a really good idea but this white lump was very accidental so not too sure even a thumbnail would have done for this one. It was just one of those things. Not too sure the beach was a good idea either to be honest. The two together were a bit too much. Would you have been able to get round it. And what way. Aside from calling emergency services. 😂😂😂😂 I think if I left the beach bit out it might have looked better. It was too much water and very little beach. Maybe it should have been one or the other. Now that I look at it again it was a bit too much. By mistakes we learn eh? . Thanks for these tips Michele. Glad to see Gimlet he's gorgeous. Send him big hugs and kisses for me. Much love and God bless both of you. Susan xxxx❤❤❤❤

How I enjoy listening to your tips! I have made many of those mistakes. Being a more scientific minded person, I use(d) a ruler. No longer. I used to believe that the whites of clouds were white. I forget about grasses being shorter in the background, etc. Thanks for the care and time you put into the explanations.

Hi Norman, graphite is what modern pencils are made of so should erase in the same manner. Once the sheets are no longer new they won't make such a strong line.

Hi Michelle, I definitely make some of these mistakes, but I am learning more as I go, especially with instructors such as you to learn from! I think the Landscape course looks very interesting, but I would like to know how long each module is and when (e.g. what day etc.) it will be available. Is it pre-recorded etc. I don't use Facebook so would it be possible to communicate with you outside that format. Thank you!
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Жыл бұрын
You can always email me with specific questions at art@michelewebber.com Modules vary, the course is static, meaning you can access for lifetime, stop, start and drop in and out, although I may at some future point add extra or bonus modules (you will get these free). Each module contains downloadable PDF's and a video to watch, with photos and exercises, usually between 15 and 30 minutes. If you click though to the sales page you will get an idea of total video time and the number of lessons, pdf's etc. There's also a FAQ section at the bottom of the page :-)
