Castle Eltz or Burg Eltz is a beautiful castle in Germany. It reminded me of a Dracula Fortress from Transylvania, but I got to photograph it during daylight, which made it into a Disney Castle. In this video I go in depth with my thoughts in regard to composition and delivers some tips and techniques on that subject.

What a gorgeous spot. Ive seen this castle millions of times, always moody, so this weather you had, helped to bring another different atmosphere to it. Love all the different perspectives, but the last one really rocks Mads. Great tips as usual! :)

Another great video Mads. Nice to hear you go through your composition thought process. It's not easy creating mood in your images when you're battling against the mid day sun, heat haze, tourists and scaffolding! You did well though. You'd probably enjoy shooting the castles along our Northumberland coast line.

Great video, Mads! This new format really helps explain your thought process on location. The parts where your hands are heavily blurred while indicating stuff in front of the lens might be improved by using a collapsible teacher's pointer and/or smaller aperture before you actually take the shot. Shame the light wasn't ideal, but you made it work. That looks like a lot of work to remove the scaffolding!
@MadsPeterIversen
@MadsPeterIversen 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jon, yeah normally I shoot with a smalle aperture, but zoomed in it got a bit too blurry. Anyway, yes the scaffolding part was a big pain in the butt :P

It has to be a great place to visit in autumn, during foggy weather I think. The shot I liked the most is the one with your friend shooting the castle. Were you able to do "Cloeff", it's also in the same region. I'm actually looking to plan a trip in that region for 2018. Great video, as always, I love the settings you add, they give a good indication and are helpfull to me. How was the UK-trip by the way ?
