Workshops available. I do one per year, thats it! Email me on ewan@ewandunsmuirimages.com
Landscape Photography is hard, but shooting with discipline, by the mantra of Shoot Less, Stress Less and See More, is a way to take in the beauty of where we are at any given point in time. Dont give up and dont get lost behind the eyepiece. This is a laid back look at me on a shoot in the beautiful south island of New Zealand at the beautiful Lake Moke. Reflections of the morning sunrise - Awesome!
For those asking about the workshop. Website has been updated, please reach out if you are interested: www.ewandunsmuirimages.com/Wo...

95% KZbin landscape channels are exactly the same once you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all, however your channel stands out greatly it has a lot of depth to it and has a very professional approach. Thank you so much just one humble comment. the music in headphones overpowers your voice. Hard to hear you. thank you again. ❤

There will be many of us that can relate to this Ewan I am sure. No doubt we have all made the mistake of fixating on the back of our cameras and not taking the time to enjoy what is going on around us. One of those things that comes with experience I guess.

Within the first minute of you explaining your location I knew exactly your shots. I spent a night doing some astro here and then got some moody morning shots in the same direction to the east when the cloud rolled in. Went to leave and was stunned when I looked in the side mirror as those peaks behind got some light raking across the tops showing the layers of depth to them. First time there, going back at xmas. This was cool to watch.

Hey Dakman. Yeah a cool spot indeed and which way you shoot is purely dependant on conditions, so you have to be ready to switch your choice quickly, which would of course mean a scramble across the slippy wooden boardwalk at speed too! Enjoy it when you go back. Regards, Ewan

Hi Ewan. Your first image - I find the hint of light on the hills so compelling, the promise of what lies in those pristine shadows.....delicious. Morning Ewan. Good to see you producing content again, hope you are well. Always interesting listening to you talking your way through a composition, brings a smile to my face when you correct yoursle too...almost forgetting the video camera is there with you ..lol No matter how early I rock up to a location I never feel I give myself time to prepare for a shoot and I'll own up to being one who very often will use the srpay n pray method, consequently hard drives full of unwanted rubbish abound. Being where you are I always open google maps up to see - what an unusual shape Moke is. As ever you have worked the scene and produced a couple of lovely images given the conditions you were presented with. I completely forgot about my morning cuppa as I sat watching you work..lol. Great video but it saddens me to think landscape photography has been reduced to capturing that idyllic sunset or sunrise image. That’s equivalent to reducing street photography to train stations only I would love to see you use your incredible talent to help dopes like me find beautiful images by simply immersing yourself in the landscape regardless of the time of day If I have learned one thing it’s I’m never going to sleeping in the cold on a mountain so that I can walk outside at 3 am to maybe get a good sunrise Thanks for a very well done creative insight into your talent

Hey Jay. thanks for your comment. I agree completely and did a project last year for a National Geographic project which was about light. The basis of this being that despite my tendancy to shoot at this time of the day, (as i sell large arts, the colour palette requires this for this purpose (generally)) - there is no such thing a perfect light, in that each scene will determine it own perfect light, whatever time of day. I have done a couple of vids on this too, which yielded some results which i was really please with. This image and the following two being examples www.flickr.com/photos/eos1969/49594632793/in/dateposted/ I agree and thank you for your commentary. Kind regards, Ewan
