on the bright side Izzy you could have robbed a bank on the way home! Steve (one man and his dog) swears by those electrical cell things to repel the beasts and they seem to work well first image had an almost IR look to it 🙂

Izzy I really like your jetty, pontoon photography and it gives me lots of ideas for next, yes winter here in Hervey Bay. We have midges here all summer and autumn especially during full moon and cloudy times. RID repellent and 1% Hydrocortisone creme are always in my cupboard. I can't say I have ever experienced mosquitoes like that but I can't imagine it's very pleasant. Beautiful images nonetheless. I found the color versions to be quite nice though the black and white conversions were an apt response to the lack of much light in the sky. Beautiful images as always.

My goodness - when a predation of mosquitos is big enough to occupy a sizable chunk of the image, that's concerning. (Possibly more so for the local residents.) I'd suggest care and strong insect repellent because mosquitos are increasingly being associated with transmitting some rather unpleasant diseases. (I'll take my own advice, too, because a recent holiday up in Shoal Bay saw me harvest almost 20 bites whilst on an evening shoot.) If the chemicals irritate you skin, Aeroguard has developed one that can be put on clothing. Really love the "monochrome with colour" at 9:30-ish.

Cheers buddy, yep i use Aeroguard as well, they think my blood is well worth the effort of pushing past whatever anti mosquito spray I use... the little blighters, those flying teeth are the bane of my Summer! Hey ho, worth it for an image or two 😂. Have a great weekend 🙏🙏🙏

I've seem some very effective mozzie repellents in the field. Someone should sponsor you Izzy after that ordeal. Liked the last shot the best. Great perseverance!

My sympathies with those mozzies!!! I use plenty of repellant hoping that it will work. I wonder if Vicks vaporub would work like it does on leeches? Great decision to convert to B&W, that beautiful moody sky is emphasised so well. So many compositional decisions taught so subtly and well. Thank you. Raffy is certainly having a great time running around - he must love being a togs sidekick! Happy days...see you next week.
