I love how these studies turned out and I love that you didn't edit your struggles. At the end, everything worked great ❤ I want to try to make timed studies as well. I'd love a video on acrylic markers.

Oh sorry I forgot to also add ~ YES PLS to would LOVE to see more on these acrylic markers! 🩵💚 I remember being fascinated by them in one of your recent materials haul videos where you had bought a couple of neutral coloured Liquitex acrylic markers (I believe Bleach Titanium & Parchment?!) & a beautiful pale yellow one ~ which I’d promptly added to my ‘wishlist’ but didn’t know how I’d use them, or if they were worthwhile the cost - I just knew that I loved the look of them!! Along with the 2x Ecoline brush pens in pastel red & sand yellow - again not familiar with these & how/why/when to use them!? 🤔🥴

I really found helpful your zeroing in on the tweaks you made toward the end of the video, i.e. the close up shots. So often one can be dissatisfied with a piece when all it needs is a bit more working, maybe after letting it dry. Watercolour is tricky that way. Going back in when still too wet can be great but going back in when it’s dry can also be good, creating layers. Anyway, many thanks again for sharing the journey of making marks. Great work!

This reminds me of when i was a textile student we had life drawing and the model posed for 15 minutes and then moved to another pose. I use to feel anxious about capturing the pose i am a perfectionist at times although alot freer and more experimental with media these days . I surprised myself at how eventually i enjoyed it it gave a freedom to observe quickly and it was ok not to be tight and detailed. I will try this, get a time study sketch book . I agree with walking away or leaving something for a few days ,coming back its never as bad as you sometimes think . Yes to acrylic markers 😊 I enjoy seeing your work and process 🌟

I absolutely love how these landscapes came out! I think I’ve always preferred fast sketches over a more finished painting. There’s something about the energy and spontaneity of the marks that I find so appealing. Also, would love to see an in-depth tutorial with using your acrylic paint markers as the topic. I find your use of them very inspiring.

Thank you (again)! I've been in a creative rut (perfectionist block). When you mentioned that you wanted to stop 2/3 of the way through because you didn't like it, that resonated with me!!! I often stop/start over for the same reason. I need to go back and work through the struggle (and definitely make use of a timer)!

For 20 mins (let’s ignore the faff time 😅), these 2 sketches are amazing! I think the timer helps in giving them that burst of energy. What I find most interesting are the parts that you problem solved along the way (e.g. when you realised you were losing contrast for the tree on the left sketch). Thank you for sharing this demo 🙏🏼
