I went to Miami for work for three weeks in February/March 2019 and of course had to bring a fishing pole...or course I had to. I fished the canals every night after work and all day on the weekends. Caught a ton of Peacocks, Mayans, a Jaguar Gapote, and some other species. It was so much fun and so easy for anyone to do. I was on the west side right by the Turnpike and just north of IKEA/Bass Pro. Seriously, if you have ever thought of doing it, you have to. Get a hotel for a couple of days and hit the canals. They are everywhere and so are the fish. Way too much fun!!!! I didn't get to eat any since I was in the hotel but I wanted to try them. Glad to see you make this video to show that they are good fish!

I just started watching you and Brook. This show is excellent. You answer a lot of questions about what is in all the ponds, lakes , etc in residential areas. Cooking the fish adds "credibility" to your show. I watch your shows every day now. Very entertaining.

nice! where i fish with my mates, we typically leave the peacock bass on the line for an extra while the other guys throw their baits in the vicinity of the already hooked up peacock bass. it sort of keeps a chain of peacock bass landing going once you've got the teamwork system down haha

When I was in college, one of my roommates had 4 or 5 Oscars in an aquarium. They were about 4” long when he got them and in less than a year, they were the size of the one Brooke caught. We would go to the bait shop and buy shiners to feed them when they were grown. We would drop 20-25 shiners in the aquarium and the Oscars would demolish them. One Oscar would have 5 or 6 in their mouth at a time. Just couldn’t believe how aggressive those fish were. Great vid as always👍

I've watched all of your videos, and what really stood out is your advocacy that there's no such thing as trash fish. I am from the Philippines, and here mostly all fish, wether a salt water or a fresh water fish, they're all edible. All parts, aside from the guts. I'm a huge fan. Hope you try stuffed grilled fish next time.

I was more glad to see a homeless person bath.... I ended up leaving...

Now that I am older Realize it’s all about taking care of your catch.Like you always say no bad fish just bad cooks. Greetings from N.Y.C. Are season should be in full swing in a few weeks. @keylargo2001

@@LeeBro999 I was on the fire dept. for 33 years. In that time I saw 4 houses get destroyed by either an over filled propane tank that vented while they were cooking or they started a grill right under right under the over hang. Even the radiate heat from a grill can start a fire. The best place to get propane is from a store that has an exchange program. They fill it to the legal weight and check every tank they fill. It's their reputation and insurance if something goes wrong. A lot of gas station propane fill stations really don't know what they are doing. A lot of times the bottle will say it's a 20 lbs. tank put it on the scale and fill it to 20 lbs even though the tank weighs 15 lbs empty. So your only getting 5 lbs. of gas.

Get a meat grinder, load up on invasive cichlids, and grind them up for chum. Add some menhaden oil to it to give it a nice oil slick. My neighbor used to do this for reef fishin for yellowtail snapper. Be a great way to help the environment and save yourself a few bucks on chum.

I don't fish freshwater in Massachusetts for 1 simple reason. Due to regulations, it is unsafe for pregnant woman or woman would want to become pregnant and children under 12 to eat native freshwater fish due to Mercury and PCB contamination. Even adult males can only eat a limited amount of fish each month. It is safe however to eat fish that were stocked in lakes but I don't particularly target these fish (trout mainly). I wonder if Florida has the same regulations?
