Dave, you're the best KZbin guitar teacher hands down. I'm eight months into learning and the way you break down the fingerstyle solo, even I could do it (with admittedly weeks of practice). The graphics of the fretboard on the left with the tab on the bottom make all the difference. Other teachers might have more views but your material is far, far better. Thank you for all you do and bravo.

Ive been playing guitar for over 40 years and I have been playing this song for about 30 and I did not realize the little pieces I was missing until I came here. I just wanted to learn the acoustic solo and this was the most amazing lesson for that. It means so much to have this song correct in my pocket since it means so much to me. I love your tutorials, your breakdowns are amazing. Not too fast but also not so slow and rambling like some other tutorials that you lose your thread. Thank you so much!

This is just such a nice, pleasant song to play. When you get into a good rhythm it’s easy to just close your eyes and play. I chose this song to use as something of an exercise for learning finger style guitar as it’s not too complex and takes well to a metronome. I think I might be falling in love with this somewhat low energy finger picking acoustic stuff… something about using my fingers instead of a flat pick makes me feel more connected with the instrument and can become almost meditative in practice. Now if I could only learn to sing…

If you want to play it more complex go to six string fingerpickings video on this song a lot more depth than this, even though it’s a great song

Thank you so much. So glad I found this. I've wanted to learn this song correctly, including the acoustic solo part, for too many years. You have provided what I need to finally let that happen. And what better time than when I'm having to relearn most of my guitar skills thanks to a stroke. The way you present the information is easy for my "now challenged" brain to understand. Great song and an awesome and complete guide on how to play it. There are a million versions of how to play this on You Tube and most other instructors just give a basic fingerpicking pattern and a chord progression and leave you to struggle to work the rest of it out by yourself. Not our Dave - he’s the BEST! Your new Taylor guitar sounds great and looks mighty purdie my friend.

I just stumbled across your channel and I can easily see why you have close to 1.5 million subscribers. Your rendition of the song is great, but I'm even more impressed with your teaching skills. You couldn't possibly have done a better job communicating how this is done. Even your TABs and the way they are presented are amazing. Personally, I'm not optimistic about my being able to play this song, but that has nothing to do with your talent for instruction and everything to do with my lack of ability. I'm still going to give it the old college try. Thank you so much for posting. Mark

There are several really good tutorials on the web for this song. I believe this is the best. Fantastic lesson…the bit about improvising your own variations within the chord shapes and rhythms is brilliant…transforms this song from an almost rote exercise to a platform for creativity. Which of course is how Buckingham treats it.

Great lesson once again! I have learned so much from your tutorials! I did notice a small difference between what you're playing and the tab displayed. In the Em section from Chorus 1, you play the low E string as the bass note everytime whereas the tab suggests playing the A string during the second part of the picking pattern.

I'm unable to properly count times like he does. "1 e and a; 2 e and a" etc ... when it's not a known chord. That fluidity of music thing is too high level for me I guess, but I understood the idea.
