You know, this, and Lanie's originals, will always be the way I remember her. We have enough "cookie cutter" artists in America today. What first excited me when I heard this girl, was her unique style, vocals, joy with music, and her artistry in writing her own songs. THAT is what America needs right now. You hear people everywhere saying that the music of "Yesterday", was so much better than the crap put out today. And they're not wrong. Because they take every artist now, and they BEAT POP & COMMERCIALISM into them- you do NOT get artists that just pick up a guitar and magically play #1 songs anymore. Lanie DID. And here it is, a couple years later- and we hear nothing. A rare post now and then. Little words, here at there. COVID should be stopping NOTHING. I would have this girl out there, NOW, performing LIVE, ONLINE CONCERTS, kicking ass & taking names. WITH HER OWN MUSIC. She HAS HITS. PERIOD. I've no idea what's happened. I hope she still owns the rights to them, but don't know. TIME PASSES FAST. And it's just sad to see these years slipping by, with a rare Christmas post, that WAS wonderful, but oh-so-rare. I saw that one of a "sound check" at some place- but I've heard of not much else. This gal is a HEADLINING ACT- not an opening act. I Guarantee you she'd fill a house solo- and with nothing more than a couple cover tunes, and those originals she posted long ago, long as she had the right band behind her. I just hope they do right by her. But I'm unimpressed, so far.

Hearing this rendition does make me think of how Stevie sang this song better when she was actually older than when she first released it, and I'd love it if Lanie came back in 30 years and did a second cover of this song; I'm sure living life would add the depth that is missing here, just as Stevie's cover in her later years was also more moving. Still, Lanie's cover here is very lovely and pure, and Stevie could only be happy hearing her music done so well by the next gen. It's a wonderful tribute. :)
