Landstar PROFIT last month: $38 MILLION Wheres the truck cost? Free? Or repairs? Dont plan to replace it? This is from a CCJ article. KZbin doesnt let me add the link. Cost of trucking hit record high last year (2022), passes $2/mile for the first time ($2.25 per mile)

Your new microphone is I think producing lower quality audio it sounds like a two way radio a bit

Yup... I tried to be a fancy youtuber and it didn't go so well. Back to using the built in phone mic.

@@truckingthesevenseas You just have the wrong kind of mic for how you’re trying to use it. The microphone that you showed is best clipped to your shirt or overalls. If you want the microphone to set off to the side like that do you need to get a bigger desk type microphone that KZbinrs use when you’re sitting in front of a computer in a room.

Just a brand new unit and the newest model. It had some kinks. Basically the wrong software was installed and the grounding plate wasn't attached correctly, causing shortages and frying the already improperly installed computer/software.

1500 miles per week it is very hard to cover those fixed costs.

Try 500-600 miles loads drop next day then on Friday get a long load drop Monday

If you're on OTR person at Landstar, ideally this is the best way to maximize your net profit. Coast to coast runs can kill your profit. Instead of 500 - 600, look for maximum 450 miles daily including deadhead cause you have to count for 2 hrs for load/unload both ends. Look for runs pay minimum $3 rpm, minimum $1,000 gross revenue daily Mon - Thurs, then Friday look for minimum $3,000 weekend load that allows you to get a 34 reset in. I dispatched for Landstar fleet owner recently. I had an OTR truck grossing $8 - $11k every week @ roughly 3500 miles with a weekend reset. 2nd truck, I kept him within 500 miles of his house and that truck grossed $6500 - $8k weekly roughly 2500 miles and he was home Friday for dinner, sometimes by lunch, off for the weekend and leave out Monday at 5am. And he spent at least one night during the week at his home, once a while 2 - 3 times during the week cause his route ran near his house. This 2nd truck was running a triangle route and running only 2 states, and every once in a while a square route which would make 3 states. Landstar is NOT for the weak! It takes time and patience to fully understand how to be successful at Landstar. And yes, this is dry van rates about from a few months ago! Landstar has different accesorial pays that are paid 100% to truck first, then 35% is deducted from the linehaul. So if you think about it, you're actually getting roughly 67 - 68% of load once you add the fsc back in.

Not a fan of your new mic..seems distorted. Other than that good info and hopefully things pickup. This definitely helps others considering going to landstar
