Rule number 1: 100% of what you learn in KZbin comments about Slavic languages is not true. These people are mostly Slavs who are discovering other Slavic languages and so now they consider themselves experts (that's eg my case). And the majority would be from nationalists whose goal is to humiliate the other side as much as possible, by omitting/denying the differences between the "languages", or conversely overexaggerating them. It's always a little bit more complex than what people in the internet say :) From what I, a simple Czech lurking in the internet, got, the other difference between sr and hr would be eg that Serbian has e where Croatian puts ije. A minor difference but a different standard still.

@@Canying_ylia Yes, but it doesn't make much sense (although it is technically a logical word) and no one will use such long words in Turkish. Of course adding suffixes can be tiring and boring but it has a fixed logic that once you learn, you are good to go. You can create new words or can guess the meanings of existing words easily once you get how the suffixes work. A very common example is: Göz --> Eye Gözlük --> Glasses Gözlükçü --> Optician Gözlükçüde --> At the optician Gözlükçüdeyim --> I am at the optician.

As a Czech with some basic notion about most Slavic languages, I would put it that the Ukrainian phonetics is 50% Russian, 30% Czech-like (not softening, h, i, v-) and 20% it's own (y, and not softening there, its own accentuation) and overall western and Polish-like ("half" of the grammar endings (the other being Russian-like), -v). The closest would be I dare to say Belarusian. It's actually closer to Czech than to Slovak. As to vocabulary they say "60%" Russian. My impression is something like that, let's say 50% Russian, the rest shared the most with West Slavs, mostly Polish. And a good part of words are shared only partially with either, as they have usually changed prefixes and suffixes. I know basically very little about this, as I don't actually know either language, I just had many/several "glimpses" on them already.

It's called register just don't get caught with medicine cuz Asia preferably south and east are the strictest in medicine laws.
