Donkey Kong 64 is famous for its bloat & length.... I had it as a kid but never put much time into it because it seemed so complicated compared to Banjo Kazooie. I have decided to give it a fair shot and... let me say... lanky is so beautiful.. an amazing being. worth the wait

god i had this game and my stupid baby ass didnt know what anything was. i just went around and made up my own story of what was happening. it wasnt a collectathon but a beautiful playground. no. i did NOT beat the game. I'm fairly sure most of my time was spent booting up the game and making donkeykong play house in his college dorm looking tree. Armadillo left a permanent scar on my brother and i though. And Wrinkly was the worst. This game to us was like if children were kidnapped by banana fairies and forced to do sawtrap platforming. we adore it. So excited to watch the rest and relive the horror.

I remember hearing an interview with Grant Kirkhope where he remembers multiple times that they offered the completed game to the higher ups and without even looking at it, they'd say "No. It's Not done. Add even more shit to it." so the collectibles were SUPPOSED to be reasonable, but they got blown up to an absurd degree because the game devs weren't being allowed to call it finished until they made those changes.
