After using the Lanshan 1 (2021 version) for over 60 nights this year over three long distance paths including
South West Coastal Path
Norfolk Coast Path
Two Moors Way (Devon’s Coast to Coast)
Thought I would do a video on why I love this tent so much and how I use it
When I walked South West Coastal Path I wild camped as much as possible and had 42 nights out of the 54 days I took to walk it.
I walked starting 1st March through April this year 2022 and this tent never let me down once
I had a variety of weather including frosts, heavy rain and strong winds
(the kind that make guy lines buzz and the feeling you’re being tipped out of bed by your mum)
It was pitched on a variety of terrain including Long grass, bracken/stinging nettles, granite rocks and slate rubble at side of a path 😀
I’ve had it on Norfolk Coast Path on a reed bed, among brambles and night when it was 33 degrees on sand.
On the last night of walking Two Moors Way had to throw it up at side of path on (bit of an over site, concentrating on finishing and had no real plan 😊)
A tipping area of rock , slate and general rubbish
✅ take a look at this video of where I used the Lanshan 1 to Wild camp the South West Coast Path
• Wild camping 42 nights...
And for the full story of day by day walking and wild camping the South West Coast Path

Have a look at my videos for some ideas of what we have been through 😀😎
I don’t recommend things lightly. But this tent is amazing value for money.
It’s light to carry. Has enough space (not palatial) but enough to have your kit inside. Vestibule gives you somewhere to dry equipment. Even feed yourself (COOKING IN TENT IS NOT RECOMMENDED)
When asked what tent I used on my Challenges and how was it my answer has always been
“Stood up to everything I threw at it!”
If you have any other tips, mods etc or questions please put them in comments. Always good to help others
Fanx for watching. Appreciate a Subscribe (still have worked out how to put button on Videos…..)
J 😀😎🙏

The price of Thermarest is 2 times, which is the sales model of Americans. High prices, low product costs, to be honest, you ordinary people don’t understand industrial production at all. Why is the after-sales service good? Because the profit is huge! ! The original production cost of a product is 1 US dollar, and it is sold to you for 5 US dollars. When you apply for the sale and send a new one to you, they still make 3 US dollars. Do you understand?

Hi J, I'm also a big fan of the Lanshan 1. I spent October on the SWCP too and 6 weeks in Patagonia earlier this year. It's the best tent I have ever had and so easy to put up quickly. Can I suggest that for better stability you should take the rubber cap off your hiking pole and slot the end in the metal ring on that front tab. You can then use a peg in the loop to stake out the bathtub. This will ensure the pole is firmly between the ground and the roof of the tent and won't slip in strong winds or by anything pressing against it. It also means that there is tension on all sides of the bathtub, maximising space. Happy camping!

I've been struggling a bit with getting a good pitch with my Lanshan . - I've now seen some of the place you had to pitch on the SWCP and it appears I don't need to worry too much about getting everything straight! Good tips and advice here, thanks for sharing. ATB Roger

Just to let you know i think that youre supposed to take the rubber end off your pole and then the tip sits in the eyelet. You can then pull the bathtub floor out nicely then 👍

I disagree with you about not moving the knot on the main guy line. I find the tent sits much better with the pole set at a maximum of 120cm. This means that you will have to move the knot. I also find using delta ground anchors on the main guy and at the rear substantially improves the pitch. Great tent, great price.👍

Nice tip. Was trying to aim video for beginners/ people new to this tent. I carried a set of deltas when I walked South West Coastal Path never had to use them 🤞 😃😎

Wouldn’t a shorter pole mean a closer to ground pitch thus less air flow? I’m having the opposite issue. I want it pitched higher for air flow

A good hack aside from the common pegging doors seperately...is a 10m dyneema cord running over the apex peak thru the loop the thru the mid fly guy out points to a peg couple metres out each side.... the effect of this is that the natural tension between the apex and the peg will naturally raise the centre fly guy points without using external trek poles..... also adds extra wind stability and you can also do the same with rear of fly

These are great tents - I have the Pro version, only because when my (pre-2021) regular version arrived I could tell it was too tight for me inside the inner. I find it's a good idea to use the provided floor-level grommet for the tip of the trekking pole. Same as you, I run an extra guyline forwards from the apex loop, which I think the tent needs in breezier conditions.

Agree with floor level grommet. I did use it when I walked South West Coast Path but forgot when I made video ☺️fantastic tent 😃😎

What's the difference between the 3F UL, MIER and one other? They all appear to be the exact same tent, but vary in price a bit. (Amazon US) I've been eyeballing this tent for a while, but couldn't make myself buy it. But my zpacks hexamid tarp is starting to show it's age, and I really don't feel like plunking down another $400.

Did you seam seal it? No matter how much I looked in the video, it didn't look like you had. I was reading another article where they complained it wasn't from the factory and had to do it themselves.

This is Lanshan 1, doesnt need to be to be seam sealed by yourself, already is Only Lanshan 1 Pro needs to be seam seal by silicone glue, because its a single wall tent
