We only started watching the racing at the Giro and I’ve found the footage inexplicable at times. Watching the highlights is even worse! They miss key moments in the race. We just put it on from the start, watch a good bit then ffwd through and pop in and out at various parts of the stage, then leave on for the last roughly 50km. If we miss anything important, we try and go back to find it. Even then, though, the filming is dreadful at times, and it’s been worst at the Vuelta. Day 2, the motorbike filming was all over the place, and the helicopter footage was blurry. Both were missing vital footage at key times. It’s hard to believe it’s a well-established sports channel!

Why is it that Sepp Kuss is popular in Spain? Is it because he lives in Andorra? or that he seems to have the warm heartedness of Catalunyian? I'm from the US and was delighted to be there for a few stages of the Volta Catalunya.

Ineos totally broke today ! I think Kuss did a little tactical mistake not following the move of the two directly - that cost him some energy to close the gap, even if this was still small. But he could have gained a bit more time without that I think ! Otherwise - Good day for Jumbo - and Evenepol had been controlling his losses in the way we know he can do well ! SO - very interesting it seems to get now for the GC fight - there are still favorites and some dark horses ( Ayuso especially )

Yeah I don’t see how Jumbo Vizma can be beaten in this Vuelta. At this point of the race Remco is still holding his own and all my respect to him, but Jumbo Vizma will just choose two or three mountain stages where they will attack and there is no way anyone will be able to follow. The fact that they basically have a triple threat on GC and two of them are arguably among the three best GC riders of the world is just frightening. Additionally this makes tactics possible for them which other teams couldn’t even dream of and they use them absolutely perfectly virtually every time.
@ZnakeTech
@ZnakeTech Жыл бұрын
Well, still a long way to go, a lot can happen, but TJV is for sure the team to beat with two of arguably the best GC riders in the world, and Kuss clocking in as well, then they can pull some deadly combos in the mountains, cause the other GC riders can not let neither Roglic, Vingegaard or Kuss go up the road, so they will have to close gaps all day, everyday, even though they know a counter attack is coming.

I can understand if jumbo told sepp to ease up to avoid team responsibility these next few days but am puzzled they didn’t tell him how close he was to red so it could be a deliberate decision to push for red or not. Obviously the biggest thing is to do what it takes for the team to win the Vuelta, and if they chose not to take the red, that would be a strategy (not one i would follow, but a strategy. But it appears it was not a deliberate choice. Red a) would have been huge for Sepp, and b) would further legitimized him as a threat to GC, making it even easier to play cards in stages this next week. It was clear he had no idea how close he was to taking red. Kuss also looked the strongest the other day when he did not press for the line. GC Kuss.for a 3-card deck of cards.

Roglic double is on! Was worried about him after stage 3 but my man was cooking today, looked a lot stronger than Jonas towards the end

It's good to see Roglic in good form, but also important to remember that Jonas has been sick the last two days.

We shouldn't write Remco off though. I think he will come back from this even stronger. And I say that as a Roglic fan

Don’t think anyone is writing off last year’s Vuelta winner and the World TT Champion b/c he couldn’t respond to accelerations today and lost limited time. He is expected to take large chunks of time from just about everyone on the time trial as well. He’s clearly the main threat to Jumbo and likely remains the favorite.

I think for now he has more of an Ardenne classics profile. Every year he seems to struggle at high altitudes. He has almost unlimited talent though, so I'm not counting him out for the upcoming years. For now I still think he has a couple of facets he can improve on.

@@cskard8289 Considering Vingegaards epic time trial in the Tour, I would not be so certain remco can beat him easily at all, if even beat him altogether.

@@TerranigmaQuintetThe time trial on the Tour was significantly different to this upcoming one. Considering Remco can beat Ganna on flat TTS, I think he’s the favourite (if he’s in shape)

I love how Jumbo let Pogi and Remco spend their energy on bonus seconds then just cooks them when it actually matters.

I am so happy for Sepp. He has been my favourite rider for years now and starting to get the personal success he deserves. Without Sepp, Roglic doesn't win the Vueltas in at least 2 of the 3 years from 2019 to 2021.
