Second best thing about Milano-San Remo is that the early part is a snooze and you can skip it. Nibali's normalized power a few years ago was like 120w for the first 2 hours? That's a 'leisurely walk' level of effort for a pro. Best thing about it is how spicy it gets in the final hour. Great recap.

Prima vera I love the build up of tension, the crazy descents, the crazy length, the climbs being just not steep enough, makes it all difficult to predict. Also at MSR their is no more hiding, pre season has ended. MvdP will take it this time. Thanks, it felt like a review and a preview in one video.

It'll be an interesting race for Pogacar this year. Out of the big favorites, I feel like he's the only one who has proven he is on top form. Having said that, I just don't see Pog attacking hard enough to go clear by himself. UAE need to made this, a race of attrition which San Remo isn't. The harder this race is prior to the Poggio the better it will be for Pog to go clear.

So much went wrong for Mohoric (makes a mistake and drives into the gutter for no reason, messes up the last corner and loses time, chain nearly comes off) but the guys in the back kept fighting each other XD

One of my absolute favourite races. The speeds up the Poggio always amaze me - going so fast they have to break in the corners, despite going uphill! Gutted Pidcock is out of the race this year - he showed at Strade Branch he's got the descending chops to make the most of the run to Via Roma. Will be interesting to see if Alaphillipe and Remco gang up together or whether they fight it out as individuals.

To me, Mohoric this day has narrowly escaped death twice, especially when he dropped into the gutter, he had no vision because he didnt looked forward but into his cockpit, when Pogacar saw that he just gave up and says no I let this crazy man doing his thing but I dont wanna die. That was INCREDIBLE but this is the kind of historic moment you become aware of the amount of confidence you have to put on your destiny

Cycling is a beautiful sport, but at the end of the day Slovenian usually wins. Seriously we are so spoiled that we started arguing between ourselves who is better and there are a lot of only Roglič fans who hates Pogačar and would rather see Jonas win and vice versa
@ortros1 Жыл бұрын
I am a Slovenian and I'm a fan of all our cyclists. No offense but it is really idiotic that fans of one are haters of another. They are all ours (in better or worse)! But however I couldn't be disappointed last year tdf because Vingegard won (especially after I saw how much it meant to him and to the Danes).

@@ortros1 Did you guys in Slovenia see this boom of good Slovenian cyclists coming? @@orbifold4387 I personally didn't. But then again I'm a casual cycling fan (I mean I've watched cycling, in the Armstrong/Pantani "era" but otherwise I haven't been in sync with the sport). @@ortros1 No, I am not Italian. I just happened to live there for a few years. Slovenia is a wonderful cycling destination. Last summer I started my cycling tour in the Alps by climbing Mangart and Vršič Pass in one day. These are close to the region where Primož used to train. Fantastic climbs, they have everyting a road cyclist needs: altitude, gradient and in the case of Mangart little traffic and great panoramic views. I always recommend my friends to go there instead of most expensive and crowded places like the Dolomites or Switzerland.

Big bunch sprints will happen if the riders that can drop the pure sprinters choose not to. And, unless you are supremely confident in your own team's sprinter, why would you? But the plan for half the teams should be to get rid of the sprinters, and nowadays teams actually try to win.
