As someone who works as a security guard at a large facility/campus. For them to make you a badge and take your picture for a temp ID, etc yet still let you roam around on your own is overkill and a waste of time. They need to get their security a golf cart or something (like I have) and they can make the delivery to the mailroom themselves.

Didnt stall me much but when i was trying to get out from the back end because the GPS told me to go through it and its much closer to my next stop (they also have a back gate), stalled me 5 minutes wondering if theyll open -for exit- automatically or had to dial them again. Nothing happened then i had to get back out from the front. wasted at least 10 mins right there

as a flex driver, sometimes I'll get DSP routes as well during the evening time. I call them leftovers routes. The flex routes depends on what station you' re in IMO. In my case I'm in Queens, NY. Personally I like Queens over Brooklyn cause I'm mostly familiar in Queens. I got into DSP as well but in Brooklyn and I'm still figuring out the group stops VS doing them individually like most flex routes does. Doing flex is much easier compare to DSP but as a flex driver, you are your own boss. I'm driving an 04 Honda Accord with 210K miles so realistically speaking, I can't do flex long term which is why I sign up for DSP.

I did a much bigger flex route on a day when I wasn’t scheduled to work this past February. One of the owners of my DSP texted me directly that morning and asked if I was available to work because of increased volume and I said yes because I wanted the hours. My flex route had 139 packages. On a flex route you deliver only one or two packages to each house and the stops most of the time are a quarter mile apart or farther. The sequence numbers on the packages count up from 1. So I went from 1 to 139.

Now we have 3 so I chose to start at 7:40am that way I shouldn't be delivering in the dark, unless they need me to "sweep" out what you guys call it "rescue." One of my first routes after changing times I had 12 stops! My smallest route ever!!! Normally the earlier routes are smaller so that we can help the other drivers out. I normally do about 2 "sweeps" a day now on top of my 60 to 80 stops. Although one day after i finished i called dispatch they sent me to an address and i waited for about 20 min and they never showed so i called dispatch back they sent me somewhere else and I waited and waited. I called back they sent me somewhere else and again I waited and nobody showed up again. That day I waited at 3 different locations for a total of about 2hrs on the side of the road. Still got payed for it though.

In places where there isn't any Amazon warehouses or last mile delivery centers it's usually handed over to United States Postal Service to deliver to the destination but if the package is too big for USPS to deliver it's usually handled by UPS. Amazon normally won't send their Flex drivers too far from their warehouses mostly because it's too dangerous for the driver and the long driving takes a toll on the driver's personal vehicle and the driver's body since they are working out of their car.

That's the easiest flex route I've seen any Amazon driver do. When I used to work as a driver at my DSP in Garner, NC Flex routes were insane in stop count. Most flex routes had to be delivered to the Downtown Raleigh area with 80+ stops with 90 packages that were at least 5 minutes apart from each other. Not to mention most flex routes wouldn't be ready until 2 pm at the earliest and my DSP loaded out at 10am. Amazon delivery was fine until I lost my usual route in Clayton and had to do Downtown Raleigh full time lmao.

that usually how it is. I was expecting more but I'm not complaining

@@LaosHouse doing flex routes in downtown Raleigh was literally almost no different than a regular route in downtown and you were starting later. 40 of those 80 stops were literal high rise buildings and luxury apartments that had so many obstacles to get through (no street parking, parking down the road, numerous access codes) it was like doing a normal route same stop count but finishing at 10 or 11 pm (downtown Raleigh is an all day route even for experienced drivers in that area).
