Your NIGHT CINEMATOGRAPHY just blew me away on this one...! My brain was delighted and so entertained by it that I really disconnected from my daily 'noise'. Phenomenal job, BRANDON! Congrats and keep it up! All the best from Portugal, Madeira Island!

Respect for those helping you to produce this, to subjects giving you permissions to shoot them... and congrats on getting access to interesting places (not to mention respect extended to you for understanding how to make the more mundane locations interesting.) You are both an artist as well as superb craftsmen Sir. Peace. I urge anyone who has the means to join your film school. Thank you for years upon years of free inspiration and insights.

The fact that you needed to use ND at night gives me hope that with even a f1.4 lens I can film at night at ISO100
@hubey3 жыл бұрын
Just an FYI, Brandon shoots S-Log 3 which has a minimum ISO of 640, and the next clean ISO higher is 12,800. So he could have been shooting at either one of them, hence the NDs. Not sure what a 1/50th, ISO 100 f0.95 exposure would look like in that location but I am curious! I guess something like 2 stops brighter than f1.4

Great review. Most of the time when I'm interested in a product, I will look for reviews from multiple sources. In the case of this lens, it paid off. Mainly because you were the only reviewer - so far - that mentioned the fact that you can remove the circular flare by stopping down on the lens. That's a huge piece of information regarding this lens. Now, I"m back to considering this lens for a future purchase. Very useful and informative review. Thank you.

"Technically" the Voigtlander Nokton 10.5mm f/0.95 MFT is the widest f/0.95 lens as it's Angle of View is the equivalent of a 21mm lens on full frame; however, the bokeh would only be the equivalent of f/1.8 on full frame, but still it is a f/0.95 and is wider.
@johnsouthchai34443 жыл бұрын
Yes, but the Nokton 10.5 image circle can't cover the sensor size so it's not the widest for FF (i guess that's why Venus optic mention FF on their page?) 😂

Great footy - and I know that focusing on a .95 is no easy job. But do any of the WO shots look sharp to you? They all seem a bit soft in the center - am I imagining it or is it just the razor thin line of focus for .95???
