I'm honored to call Jimmy a good friend for the past 9 years. Super smart and humble, I can't say enough good things about him.

Jim IS NOT an anomaly, most cops are like him. You don’t get to see us on the evening news. I had a blast during my 30-year career, helping those I could help and putting the ones I couldn’t in prison as long as possible so they couldn’t harm anyone else. You can’t help the ones who don’t want to help themselves. Life is all about choices, regardless of your upbringing. May your retirement come soon, Sir. I am enjoying mine.

“My purpose in life was to be a protector,” really got me. Thank you for this story, Mark

We need many police officers that have the depth and attitude of this guy.

Love the rehabilitation talk. Working at a Title I school for almost 10 years, I have seen that “the worst of the worst” comes from a bad upbringing. It’s heartbreaking, honestly. Even the “silent good kid” can be living a life of hell. Everyone is a human living a different life. No matter their age.

I saw a policeman at a coffee shop who helped me out twenty years ago. I introduced myself and thanked him for his help. Of course he didn`t recognize or remember me but I was grateful for the opportunity to thank him for his service. You may forget the people that you help but the people that you helped never forget you.

It's so wonderful to hear from an officer who isn't afraid to articulate exactly why things are so bad.

I would love to take this man to lunch one day. I’m an ER nurse and I identify so much with what he said. I wish more of us could be like him. I wish him nothing but the best in life.

Jim skilfully walked the thin line between an active duty cop and a private individual telling his human experience. Thank you Mark, your level of professionalism and empathy makes each interview a treasure.
