They don’t do anything. They should be defunded. I’ve done 3 deployments in both Afghanistan and Iraq and never seen any military men and women run or not go in like these cowardly cops. They want to be like the military so bad but they are cowards and will never live up to the standards of our military men and women.

Well when departments are politicized and have gone against civil liberties regarding the vaccination, this will happen. Also, I don't care whether a potential hire lives in their parent's basement .. it only matters as to their work ethic, abilities and dedication to upholding the state and national Constitution. We wouldn't be in a hiring crisis if the politicized issues brought on by the dept and the Board and Governor didn't push officers to early retirement, termination and moving out of state

Never live in the city you work in, is the biggest issue LAPD has had since the 80s. If you go to Arcadia, you find Chinese Americans in uniform, if you go to East LA it's Latinos in uniform, and half of them either grew up somewhere close or in a neighborhood in LA that's close to it. Every time they take people that don't know the people they are suppose to protect, they instead treat those people with distrust and resentment. That's how you get trigger happy cops. I did 10 years as a Marine infantryman, I know a thing or two you could say. And if made it to the written test, that's only step 2, you were still 5 steps from getting hired, you got ruled out at the start essentially.

The $1000 means nothing if their salary is low, work and safety conditions aren’t good. They can easily adjust your salary to camouflage the rent assistance. @@kendalgee5808 haha 😂 well I agree with you about living there doesn’t matter. I think people don’t understand what the job of law enforcement is. It is to enforce laws 🤦🏼‍♂️, pretty simple if you ask me. I agree treating people with respect should be shared by everyone (cops and citizens). The problem is if the police are there, then chances are someone is breaking the law. If a cop is called to a location and a crime has been committed they have to take a report if the suspect is gone or they have to arrest the suspect if they are there still. No where in there is bullying a part of the equation. Also never seen someone who just stabbed or shot someone give a crap about how nice the officer is. The suspect is breaking the law because they don’t care about laws or following rules of society. The cop that shows up has to arrest that suspect and deals with bad people like that all day. Eventually the nicest cop is going to be seen as a “bully” at some point even if he isn’t. It’s pretty simple, follow the rules of society, treat people with respect, respect authority, and if you have a problem with how something is done then make a formal complaint at the end of the incident. No cop is gonna stop in the middle of a incident to deal with your complaint of the issue. So I agree living in the community doesn’t matter at all. Being respectful and treating people only goes so far with people (law breakers) who don’t respect or treat people right to begin with.

Crime is up so bad, people are dying more and more, more then the regular its your time to go. this is really sad, so now your leary of everyone you see, is he going to kill me, rob me, rape me or murder me? Its so sad. I saw a guy carring a gas can up the street, I was walking down the street with my dog, first thing I thought is he going to throw gas on me and set me of fire, is he homeless or crazy? I know my dog that was with me even though he s a dog pound dog, I believe he s protective of me, the dog wouldnt take his eye s off of the guy on the other side of the street. This is something never crossed my mind all the years I have been walking my dogs. the lady that was murdered in the next housing track was murdered by a homeless guy and she was a probation officer. So yes theres so much concern going anywheres.

i finally understood the defund movement i ytuly feel for this officers the amount of mental illness and calls just based on people not being housed and on the street is a real issue...we get caught in the us and them and let our emotions run wild...after listening to the scanner a few hours even im frustrated i can only imagine the person on the other line and the cops on scene...lets let go of our ego and work for the society we want to see..obviously four years of trump andwhat do we got...if the people where housed like prior to reagans coming into office the streets were cleaner and cops had 1/3 of the work they have just because everyone is housed...

Send the homeless back to the states the came from… protecting the police and law abiding citizens is the priority. They wouldn’t need to pay so much overtime if they HAD more officers. Having 3 officers work 8 hour shifts vs 2 working 12 with 4 hours worth of overtime pay. It means instead of paying 10 dollars per hour. You are now paying 15 per hour because you are paying overtime

Maybe giving everyone easy access to guns wasn't such a great idea. It can be assumed that every single person has a gun because there are more guns than people in the US. As a person looking to be a cop, chances are you will be involved in a gunfight more than a couple times in your career. Now police officers are put in prison for doing their jobs. Who would want this thankless job? Many officers are seeking new jobs and very few people want to be a cop. The squads are already being pushed to the extreme in terms of workload, for newer officers they are mandated to take OT sometimes working 18 hrs per day. It's a ffkn hard job.

@@glennwatson3313 If you commit a crime that right is taken away isn't it? Who takes that right? The US government. And if more guns equals less violence like you said, why don't you just move to the "hood" where everyone is armed? Much safer right? Why don't you move to the middle east or Sudan or El Salvador? Everyone is armed right? Less violence. Go, move there you'll feel much safer.

@@Dr_Manhattan_Phd That's right. If you commit a crime many of your right are taken away. That does not mean the government gave those rights to you in the first place. I might take away your candy bar even if I did not give it to you. See how it works? Everyone is not armed in, "The Hood." Only the criminals are armed. I will bet money my neighborhood is better armed than any comparably sized area in the hood and we have very little violent crime. The same can be said for Sudan or El Salvador. The victims don't have guns, only the government and the criminals do. I am not a victim and the government does not give me rights.
