This episode can give a clear example of the resource shortage that Peridot brought up. You can see the difference between an Era 1 and Era 2 Lapis. The Era 1 Lapis is more bright in color, and as demonstrated, has complete control of the oceans of a world, even to the point of building massive constructs capable of so many things. But Era 2 Lapis Lazulis are darker and fuller in color, as well as not having the amount of control and power an Era 1 has. The most complex their structures can get is a water wave blade, small chains, and a buzz saw. Even though there are 2 of them, they would most surely lose against one Era 1 Lapis. This brings up also a good question. If Peridot was created during Era 2, and is definitely not to the "quality" of Era 1, than what exactly _do_ Era 1 Peridots look like? Are they also small? Do they require Limb Enhancers as well? What can they do that our Peridot can't? Can they summon weapons, or do they summon something else? Do they differ in appearance to our Peridot? There's many questions I wish we could get answered. And this also extends into the question of "are there more Gems out there than what we already see?" Sadly, we may never know those answers, and can only speculate. Especially because, with the way reboots, continuations, and such have been going lately, I'm very afraid that they could completely ruin everything that came before. That would be "Transformers Prime; Transformers Robots In Disguise" situation I really dont want to think about.

I enjoyed snow say a lot on my first watch, but after reopening some open wounds this past days I actually appreciate it even more. While the gems didn’t quite understood why Steven was angry, the moment he stood his ground and explained they actually listened and respected it, something I wish I had while I was growing up, it took a while to understand that speaking up when someone is doing something hurtful even if they don’t mean it it’s ok.

I think Im grieving the series before its even over. Im pretty sure Im at the bargaining stage, because Id be okay with the good old hiatus days if it meant the end wasn't so close. I'm so happy that SUF puts so much more energy into how normal Gems are adjusting to the end of the Empire than the Diamonds. The Diamonds deserve episodes focused on the lore and worldbuilding, but Steven Universe is about relationships and complex emotions. The more you acknowledge that the Diamonds are despots, the more you HAVE to acknowledge that the Diamonds don't fit into the narrative, beyond confronting their grief over Pink. Steve Universe isn't about fighting tyrants. It's about, "You've spent years admiring your tyrant (parent, girlfriend, boss, President, ideology, pastor, teacher...) and you've put little thought into who you are and what you want to be." AND, entire episodes have been about the opposite: parents who have spent so long shaping their identity around their kids, they don't know what to do when the kid says "You don't know me at all" or moves on from them.
