Replacement screen purchased from www.laptopscree... .
Asus TUF A15 FA506IV is equipped with the Panda LM156LF-2F01 screen, that has only 66% sRGB and 49% Adobe RGB coverage coverage and it's unusable if you're editing photos / videos, so if you want to upgrade it you can use this video I made as guidance.
Be extra carefull with the screen bezel and the 40pin EDP connector or you may end up damaging your laptop.
If the video helped you, like and subscribe :D
You can also check up the Asus TUF A15 (FA506IV) - RAM and SSD upgrade video here: • Asus TUF A15 (FA506IV)...

This is NOT the correct way to do it! You forgot to disconnect the battery and the only thing that kept you from blowing up your motherboard (which is way more expensive than a display), while filming this video, was luck. The backlight power line is always live (check EDP diagram to identify backlight power pins -you can check with a multimeter that I am correct) and it's very easy to touch the ground with some of the live pins, while removing or connecting the display cable. We sell a lot of displays and there are a still many customers who disregard our advice regarding this necessary step (but time consuming, indeed). Most of them are lucky, but some are not. In this case (an Asus laptop) the damage might be impossible to repair. Do not take this chance again and read a service manual before posting videos on KZbin. So, long story short, start by removing the internal battery. Test the display before final installation using the AC adapter. Reconnect the battery after installing the display. In this way, the risk is zero.

I followed this tutorial and replaced the screen on my TUF A15 with the same panel like Alex. One thing that I encountered, and, it seems, from this video, that he didn't , is that my original screen was glued to the lid by more adhesive tape. Luckily I was able to pry from one end of it, that was visible at the edge of the screen, and pull it from under the display, but it's something to keep in mind if you are doing this. Also, you need to make sure that the 40pin connector is pushed firmly into the screen connector when connecting the new display - I did not do that at first, and I thought that I had bought a defective panel :)). The new screen was, like Alex said, a bit more thinner than the old one, so I did need to put some double sided adhesive tape underneath it to fix it.

I removed the Panda screen before ordering the new screen to see what sort of mounting system they used (brackets with screws or sticky tape). That's why the part with the removal of the sticky tape is not present in the video, but it's really easy to remove it by pulling from the ends that stick out at the bottom part of the screen.

Thanks alot Alex. You are a champ! I have spent last few months evaluating a bunch of laptop models just because A15 comes with a low accuracy screen. This video makes it easy for me. I can finally go ahead with my purchase. Now my only concern would be to source a replacement screen to India. Any suggestions would be welcome. The model of A15 that I intent to purchase is FA506IV-AL173T.

@@xmadnav I purchased my replacement screen from Laptopscreen.com, because I wanted to receive it faster (they have a warehouse in Poland and I live in Romania, Europe). Since you live in India, you could check on Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress but be careful because almost all the sellers send "compatible" screens (not exactly the screen you want). It would be better if you could comunicate with them before the purchase and make sure they have the screen you want in stock.

Kind of late in the party. I just got my Asus TUF A15 model number TUF506IV-BS91-CB and have been using it for a few hours now. The display of the laptop was giving me terrible eye strain. I was not sure what I can adjust to the display to make it better and have been searching the internet for solutions. Then I saw your video. My display panel brand was different from yours. It was the Innolux, panel model N156HRA-EA1. The specs., in the remarks it was saying eDP1.3 (only thing listed) compared to what's in your model, eDP1.4; Support G-SYNC with direct driver . Will the one you used worked on my unit? Thanks!

The A15 revisions (if there are any) have nothing to do with your problem. As long as you have the same Panda LM156LF-2F01 screen it means you have the 40pin connector and BOE NV156FHM-N4K should work. Since that is the exact screen model I used on mine and it's working with no problems, there are 4 options: 1. You received a defective screen (DOA) 2. You damaged the EDP cable in the process of changing the screen 3. You damaged the 40pin connector of the screen 4. You damaged both the EDP cable and the 40pin connector Try the original Panda screen. If it works, it means the new screen is defective or it's 40 pin connector is damaged. Just as a long shot, try to set the Nvidia graphic card as the default, but I don't think this is going to help in your case.

@@AlexUrsakeRomania Thank you for the tips. I have the LM156LF-2F01 as you did. I am considering the LG LP156WFG-SPB2 because it seems to have the shortest response time at 5ms. I would consider the AUO B156HAN10.0 so I can have the 3ms response when it's overdriven, I'm just unsure how feasible it is to overdrive a laptop display that's not stock to my Tuf A15. 5ms response is excellent but if I can get ≤3ms that'd be awesome! I'm aware that the difference between 5ms and 3ms is very minimal but I'm used to a backlight strobed asus monitor with 1ms response time. I am a competitive gamer and my muscle memory is very differentiating for me on inferior systems (not to sound like a snob). ≤3ms is preferable but I'll still deal with 5ms. Any more than 6ms is where I really start to take notice of the feel. With all that being said, what do you think my approach should be? Should I just go with the LG display? Should I research if overdriving the AUO display is possible? And lastly, is there additional displays that are compatible with my system or do you think the selection you've researched is all that's available? (I found the Innolux N156HHE-GA1 and it's specs look really appealing but unfortunately it looks like it has a hardware mounted fit that won't be quite compatible. Also, it's 2-lane 30 pin instead of 4-lane 40 pin and I assume that is also a problem.)
