Why remove the protective inner film before everything else? You're risking leaving marks inside the screen when dusting the LCD. You should leave that in place until after you've replaced the LCD. Also, putting the double-sided tape on the digitizer instead of the ipad itself can lead to misaligned adhesion. That means the glass can be slightly out of alignment on the finished repair. Everything else was very helpful, thanks :)

THIS! is a great video, and one of the best that shows actual connector connections and reassembly complete. Thanks!

Thanks it took about 1/2 hour to complete. The hardest part was getting the old screen off as it was shattered into many pieces.

Thank you so much. Everything is working 100%, but unfortunately the screen pops out a bit (I assume due to the ribbon cable being compressed a little or because of the bezel trim being distorted.)

+Diego Campos We are glad it helped! You are right, it may be a slightly misplaced cable, a bent part, or maybe both. It is not the end of the world though, just be aware that it may cause the part to wear a little sooner. Also, it may be the point where the dust/moisture start building up inside your the iPad - watch out for that!

+LaptopScreen.com thank you! I will watch for that and fix it as soon as possible!

Thanks for the video. My IPAD 4 glass is shattered mostly on the edges and I want to replace it myself. I want to replace just the digitizer, do I still have to open the LCD screen ?
@Laptopscreen9 жыл бұрын
+Rahul Sharma You need to unscrew the LCD and remove it in-order to disconnect your broken digitizer and re-connect the replacement. But you do not need to replace the LCD if it is not broken.

You should keep the internal screen protector on all the way up until you put the digitizer back on...

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!!! If you follow this guys instructions and accidentally bump the power button, your Ipad will blow out the backlight fuse, and you will have to spend $150 at a repair shop! Other than that, this is a good video.

Is it just me or replacing an iPad 4 digitizer is simply a fucking nightmare?
@Laptopscreen9 жыл бұрын
NikkiDiamond Well, it is a tad of a challenge, but compared to iPad2 the 4 is easier because all the cables are tucked away and protected on the edges. Plus, keep in-mind, if your digitizer is shattered - it is a different story - its easier to get started - but takes a long time to clean up all the shards. Still worth the time to do it yourself - as the repair shops will charge premium for such repairs.

LaptopScreen.com It's not much the process itself,it's the spare parts that appear not to be working properly. I've tried 2 chinese digitizers,which both failed to work. I've now ordered a third digitizer on Amazon,which is claimed to be an Apple original product - Hopefully this time it's gonna work and i can sell the damn thing! If you happen to make another video about digitizers,i would suggest telling how important quality parts are.
