Ill do a follow up with the ammo I got and further explain some factors talked about in this video with a down range demonstration. Lot testing is very important and is also as important for rifle builders being able to manufacture a rifle setup that has a wide performance band. Just as you mentioned, some folk do not have the ability to send in their rifles for lot testing

@@EagleEyeShooting Great point about the performance band. The barrel you cut for me is quite forgiving, it might not shoot benchrest groups, but it's not a picky barrel and shoots any match grade ammo well enough to use at a match.

I was in Schönebeck Lapua/SK plant on 13th March and did my lot test there. We had 4 different lots of Lapua LR already. It’s the same software used in Germany. Picked up 12k of Lapua LR and SK Match which were also running great in my B14r. It’s a cool facility and very nice people, also had a discussion about my ECTuner

I had a custom Vudoo made. I don’t do any type of comp shooting. I just wanted a great gun. It shoots great with Sk standard. After having close to 2000 rounds through it ifinallygot3 boxes of Lapua. Long range. My first 10 shot group 1 hole, round ,have the size of dime. Mind blown. My gun loves Lapua long range I need Togo to this place

Wish you had footage of the Benchrest rifle. Last time I was there, they removed the action and placed it in the vice. Testing the entire chassis with the mounted action is how everyone will shoot. It’s more representative of the real world. Showing target impacts was a lot easier to deal with than the pages of histograms I received.

As always a great informative video. Just a question, I have placed my order for one of your CZs and am on the list. Would it be possible to have it lot tested before shipping. That would be a real game changer for me. One of your customers that I compete against has been shooting his new gun for a few months and has been testing different ammos. His best luck has been with Eley Match. We shoot out to 250 and the smallest target at each range is moa or sub moa. thanks again for your videos.

Great video and the best explanation of the test center process. I was surprised how slow the speed was with one of your rifles - 950fps, guessing that was the 24" barrel. Would be amazing if you were able to do this same video again with the same rifles at the Eley test center. The comparison would be great.

Definitely would consider if time permits trying Eley Test center. The speed your seeing is at 50m and 100m. Velocities are 1060-1090 at the muzzle

Would you be willing to make your groups available or run them through the BlackBurn Defense Group Comparison tool? I'm really curious to see if the 20 shots is enough to hit statistically significant. With the variables being so minor it feels like there's a good chance this is just feels good.

Good information, Thank you for taking the time and for sharing. When they are lot testing are there different lots within the same ammo? For example, CenterX lot 101 lot 102, etc or are they talking more like CenterX vs Midas Plus? Some other brands have several lot #'s within the same Round example Eley Tenex. Interesting that he is saying you may benefit from a tuner if you have vertical grouping.

You can test from the Lapua Rimfire selection line of Center-X, Midas+, and X-ACT. Sometimes lots are synchronous in numbers, but as discussed, it's what is available at current distributors' inventory

Hey Victor! The D-Max on the left is overall group combined of 10 shots or 20 total. As stated it sometimes is skewed if the down range sensors did not pick up a shot. Semi autos also tend to walk a little due to small recoio

Question: have you ever chambered a barrel in the opposite direction so it’s a reverse taper barrel? Reason being, we want weight out front to balance a rifle, add more weight out front, take away weight from the receiver end. Obviously a heavier mtu like barrel would make sense. Just curious, thanks.

When I started cleaning my rifles barrel more often then I use to, I get way better accuracy, Rim, Centerfire, and even Pellets. My last white patch must be as white as the first patch I put through it.

For rimfire I just soak the carbon ring out of the chamber and leave the barrel seasoned

I wanna see if I can get a way better Rim Fire Group, by lightly polishing up the bullet and perhaps 1/4" of the casing from the edge of the bullet on downwards, because my pellet groups are tight when I apply this technique to them.

Great video except for the fact that it highlights one of the things that bugs the crap out of me when it comes to these ammo companies. All the ammo is made off the same machines with the same components and yet they can arbitrarily throw adjectives on a box and sell at wildly different price ranges because of some lot testing that they won't tell you about and make no guarantees that your gun will like any particular adjective laced box. Rant over lol.

I recommend that research be performed regarding chambers for Ely and RWS rimfire ammo, or better yet, 2nd tier target ammo like Federal Gold medal and Remington/CCI target. It is impossible to find Lapua rimfire ammo unless you are connected somehow ie a gunsmith, sponsored shooter etc. And when you do find it, the price markup is really high. I will not buy a rifle that is built and tuned for Lapua ammo. Period!

As I read your comment, I quickly googled what's available at this time. Creedmoor sports has Lapua LR instock as well as elevated guns ports. Goodshooting also has CX and LR in stock... I have no issue getting Lapua ammo and shoot a case a month for my rifle builds. We are not sponsored and buy the ammo as you would. Secondly, A good rifle builder would know how to build a rifle that's not picky on ammo and can shoot any match ammo really well. It may favor a certain brand but still can find others that perform just aswell. Look up cyclops Joe on youtube and see who built his Rim-X
