Sony wanted her out of the ballad venue, suddenly reserved to competition, and tried to move her to Pop Dance. She was ok for a couple songs but didn’t want to walk that lane further which would have been detrimental to her songwriting and her true self. So it triggered a complete breakup with Sony and ultimately her disappearing from US music scene (except some sporadic events). She refocused on other ww regions where she became a star (even a legend in some countries).

Great reaction. With this song she proved she could of conquered the American pop market but that's not what she wanted to do. She preferred to do a more classical style of music although she had several pop hits in Europe like Je t'aime and Tout and I Am Who I Am which is another upbeat song that I think you would enjoy.
