Our journey has just started, we viewed one property that fit all of our needs and we put an offer in for it to be accepted! We were super happy to then find out a couple of days later that the seller no longer wants to sell her property. So we’re back to square one searching again! Onwards and upwards!

I'm confused when you say it took you time to build money back up etc as you went on expensive holidays in that time so you clearly were far from broke or needing to get back on your feet. Greece at Ikos resorts probably at least 6 grand plus

If you watched my videos you’d know that that was booked long before we moved house and we saved up for it for a long time. We also have sinking funds for holidays, and that money isn’t every day money like we need for bills and investments etc

First time buyer here- currently going through the process and another cost I wasn’t informed about is the first months mortgage payment is 2 months worth. 😬😃

That isn't actually true - it depends on the date you complete - you need to be careful to select a date which minimises it (your solicitor should do this for you)

Well done that's an amazing achievement! It is so so hard. I just don't think there's ever a good time to buy - we bought at the absolute top of the market and now everything has dropped loads (still very expensive)

First time buyer here. We got accepted on our house may 2022 and didn’t complete til December 2022 ! Took forever and nearly fell through but thankfully we have managed to make it onto the ladder ❤

We are now in the process of getting our house ready to sell we are now in the position to downsize our family home .Our mortgage is paid off now . The decluttering is something else we are hoping to go from our current 6 bedroom house to a 3 bedroom. We have 20 years of accumulating junk up in the loft.!! Exciting and stressful time. X

Aww happy one year! I remember watching the highs and lows in your journey. We brought our home 9 years ago and got a great deal but we are now renovating and just realised how expensive everything has become.

Im 31 and have been renting since I was 18, and finally have decided to buy a house. I am single so will be buying on just one income, and it all seems very complicated. I will definitely be going for a freehold house. I have a LISA with paragon which I am planning to use, but for me the main issue is actually picking a house.... I live in Manchester where there are just so many areas with bad streets mixed in good areas, so that is a hurdle I have to navigate as I have always just lived in the middle of the city and hence know nothing about outside city centre.

Best of luck with your house buying journey. It’s really hard solo. And like you say trying to navigate the right area etc. I’d definitely recommend visiting it at different times of the day and week to get a good feel for it x
