I’m doing another low buy this year. I will need to purchase a replacement concealer, mascara, and setting spray. I will let myself buy 1 blush, 1 palette (face, eye, etc.), 1 lip color, 1 nail polish color, and 1 makeup brush. I don’t need any of those things but it will let me have a little fun. I want to focus on buying fewer, better things that I love.

Doing my first nobuy/lowbuy year this year and this video was very helpful. In general I find your videos to be inspiring me to be more mindful with my make up. It is acually lots of fun to fall back in love with things I already own.

I'm definitely a skincare girly and i buy more skincare but i don't overbuy. I counted how many make up products i bought in 2024 and it was 2. 2 mascaras lol. But i am on a no buy on some make up categories even though i don't own a lot (like 3 eyeshadow palettes) but because i do minimal make up, i want to get use out of my stuff so i put myself on no buys and make myself use a product a certain times before i can buy a new one i'm interested in :)

Starting a no buy in 2025. I restocked glossier $85 purchase for the first time I have back up foundation caved to half price. I’m 63 and have done a full year no buy before and finally only have products that are being used. I keep my count under 25 and do not call my products a collection. I do not collect make up I use it. Terms matter reframe. Also I exclude mascara as I replace every 3 months.

3 products in a year seems pre 20:44 tty reasonable given items like mascara have a short shelf life. And I wouldn't count make up that comes in wirhout purchasing as something bad--those items were essentially recycled to you. I think you're doing great.

I think your number might even be closer to 30, since you brought in products like the Charlotte tilbury lipstick, the red lipgloss and bronzer stick and then panned them before your inventory! Fighting consumerism is HARD

Ooh that’s a good point. Yesterday I counted up all my empties to double check how many products I finished in 2024, and 2 of them were things that had actually joined my collection this year! So I guess I brought 27 new things in 🫠

Watching stuff like this is so interesting to me because I love makeup but I haven’t bought makeup in 2-3 years bc I have everything I need in my ~30ish product collection. Idk what I would do with over 100 😮😅

This year my goal of not buying so much boils down to putting things back properly & looking harder/longer for the things I think I lost. I have the same 3 lip stains because I kept losing them in coat/bag pockets & re purchasing. I am not very experimental with makeup (I like what I like) but I dont need any more liquid eyeliner or lash glue lol

I would love to do that but I struggle to make time for KZbin as it is :( it just wouldn't be feasible to create more videos than I already do unfortunately!
