This is terrific! I was wondering about this elderberry stuff! Thanks for sharing this one. So you make cheese also!? Very cool! I want to try that some day too. I found this terrific gal on KZbin... Her channel is Cheese52 Granted she hasn’t made a video in about 4 months...I take it she may still be active in Instagram and on Facebook. I will have to go check. But really, I bet you would find fun and joy in seeing her make her cheeses. 😊 So you have had the second surgery!? I figured that you must have had it by now. I think about y’all every day and hope you are feeling better. ~Sharon

Awww Sharon that is so sweet of you. Yes I had the surgery on September 30, I go Thursday to get the stitches out yay after 22 days of these itchy stitches I’m looking forward to that day. I do make all cheeses and have for quite some time I have been selling my goat cheese for over four years now. That took me awhile to be able to sell it legally and to a home delivery company. I also make hard cheeses to and have made many types. These past two years of my back issues I haven’t done as much as I would like. I taught classes at Wine and Cake Hobbies in Norfolk Va with cheese making, jam making, pickle making, and pasta classes. Good times I enjoyed teaching everyone everything I could since I did all the stuff long before KZbin was even invented. I appreciate you so much and always love hearing from you. I will certainly check out Cheese52. Thank you for sharing. Take care 😘

I gotta try this soon. Thanks! I just found ypur channel snd looking forward to watching. I've been watching others use their scraps to dehydrate and powder or use for something, anything. What do you do with the scraps after you press out as much as you can get?
@dawngallop3 жыл бұрын
Hello Tricia I have dehydrated it and made powder for my smoothies. I also have put them in my magic butter machine with alcohol and made a tincture for when I am really sick or my family is really sick. I have only used the tincture one time it was strong. I have also just gave them to my chickens I have made so many batches over the years my chickens have certainly enjoyed them. I should look up all this information you shared. Thank you so very much.

You should plant your own elderberries. They are super easy to grow. Mix two different cultivars for best production. Good luck !

Hello I do have them i just don’t have enough yet. Thank you. I ordered more for this year too.

@@dawngallop - I normally use steam juicer to extract elderberry juice. Some with sugar some without. Then into mason jars and pasteurize it. It’s a great add on to tea or just add it to water. Since it’s pasteurized, I can’t add honey because that would destroy beneficial elements of honey. Good luck to you !

Oh yes I have a steam juicer thanks for the tip I will try that too.

How many 32 oz mason jars does this make??
@dawngallop2 жыл бұрын
My husband always pours it in the jars but he says he always has 2 half gallon jars and then he does 3 quarts which he fills to the top and a few pints. I can tell you it is about a 1/4 of a five gallon bucket. That’s the best I can tell you.
