YES! Bacon in the oven is a lifesaver!!!! I used to be an ag teacher - each winter I would hold a HUGE community benefit breakfast where HUNDREDS would come - farmers, local factory workers, family & community members, etc and we'd make & serve the 3rd & 4th graders breakfast as well. :) Anyhow, one of my students mom would help me each year and she said hey, let's do the bacon in the oven - say what?!?!? With hundreds of lbs of bacon to cook I was all in, lol! Needless to say all you have to do is lay parchment paper on cookie sheets and bake away!!!! Just turn the oven to a high temp (400ish) and keep your eye on it - it comes out fabulous every time and no more grease pops!!! Hope this helps and works for you, just remember to keep your eye on it, it will turn fast once it gets goin! Ps: I am SO GLAD to see you back to videos, i LOVE your videos, I get so excited when I see a new one posted! 💗💗💗

I have been cooking my bacon in the oven for several years now - it is so much easier and less messy, too! I line a baking sheet with foil, then put a cooling rack on top. I heat the oven to 350 degrees, lay the bacon on top of the rack, and just let it go. I start at 25 minutes and give it a check - I really just keep an eye on it until it's done. Sometimes I will flip the bacon once if it's particularly thick, but otherwise you don't even need to do that! If I am doing multiple baking sheets, I will make sure to move them around once or twice during the cooking process so that everything gets equal heat. I let the baking sheets cool off completely and the grease hardens up - then you just fold up the foil and toss it. So easy!
@paigedewart8 жыл бұрын
I only cook one lb of bacon at a time, but I always bake it. It's so much easier! Takes about half an hour on 350 degrees to get it extra crisp like my family likes. I just lay it out on cookie sheets and don't over lap to help it cook evenly and crisp. I would definitely recommend it!

It's just me and my daughter and I bake our bacon in the oven too....I have had it stick to the pan if the bacon is thin but it is so much easier to cook in the oven than on the stove... I usually bake it at 350 for 6 minutes, then check and flip, then 6 minutes and check, then if it needs more time I check it every minute or so, that way it doesn't burn. it's way less mess than having it splatter on the stove and I can cook more at one time.
@whitneymichelle83008 жыл бұрын
bake it! put it on a cookie sheet, bake it till it looks pretty done and *I* broil it for just a few seconds to make it good and crispy! This has been a lifesaver for me numerous times.

I also raised seven children and always baked my bacon. For that three pound pkg, you'll need to spread it out on a couple of large baking sheets lined with parchment. Bake at 375-400 until it reaches the doneness you prefer. Probably 20 minutes or so. Give it a stir with a pair of tong every so often. I never worried about it all laying nice and flat on the sheets, and mine is usually curled up. Flat bacon is for families with one or two kids. lol

Bacon in the oven is wonderful. With such a big family, I'm not sure how much you intend to cook at one time, but if you have more than one rack to put in your oven, you can definitely bake two trays at once. That's how all of the big restaurants cook their massive amounts. My family learned it from a friend who worked in them his whole life, and now we never make it any other way. Much less messy, you can do other things while it's baking, it's great. I do recommend lining your pans with tin foil, though. Just because grease isn't splattering anywhere doesn't mean you aren't going to end up with a lot of it! Also, baked omelettes are great for feeding lots of people at once. My family reserved them for leftover day, and you just take any leftover vegetables and/or meats you have, dice them up, throw them into a big baking dish, cover it all with eggs (and cheese, if you want, though in my family cheese was a personal preference, so we always left it as an optional topping), and they are wonderful. You can top them with salsa, sour cream, ketchup if the kids are into that, and it's a big breakfast that doesn't take a whole lot of effort. Or lunch. Or dinner. >.>
@faylinameir8 жыл бұрын
300 (or 350 if you're impatient) in the oven for 20 minutes then flip and 20 more minutes for crispy bacon. If you plan to reheat in the pan, undercook it by about 5 minutes. You can freeze it and it works great. I DON'T recommend putting it on papertowels because that excess fat helps it reheat good in the pan or even the microwave.

Worked in food service for almost 20 years. Bacon in the oven is key for success. Bulk baking the bacon is great for sandwiches, but also great for saving the fat for later or using right away on roasting potatoes. 😋

My family has always cooked bacon in the oven and it works really well. We do it on the grill (broil) setting and still do multiple pans - you just have to swap the pans around on the shelves a few times and flip the bacon over once or twice. Very easy and a lot more of the grease drains into the groves on the cookie sheets, so you're not eating quite as much fat! We also used to make it this way in big commercial ovens at a ski club I belonged to years ago, and that was for 30-40 people at once! Definitely the way to cook bacon for a crowd!

Your video on scriptures for moms was such a blessing to me. Thank you for that...!! I actually want to comment on doing bacon in the oven..Ive got 6 people in my family and when we do BLT's its a lifesaver! You dont have to stand over the hot pan babysitting every piece of bacon. Each piece lies flat and its just so much easier. I recommend trying it at least once. :o)

Throw cooling racks in dishwasher....I love this method :)

For the bacon, lay them flat on cookie sheets (with lips/sides), a little overlap is fine on the slices. Put them into a very hot oven (like 400-425) for about 20 minutes. Drain half way through for crispier bacon. If you have a baking rack that fits inside your cookie sheet, you can drain the bacon while it cooks by putting the bacon on the baking rack. The fat will drain through the rack and into the cookie sheet.

YAY! And the world needs more of that! :) And I think part of the beauty of your encouragement is that you share things like getting noodles stuck in your drain pipe! I do cook bacon in the oven sometimes. I ususally use my broiler pan--I just don't like cleaning it afterward! But I guess cleaning up after bacon is the name of the game! Blessings on you! Glad your foot is better! I had a great Sharp Shopper haul this week, too! (Lancaster Co. PA)--woo hoo! I even took a photo and sent it to my sis in NC because I was so excited!

Yes bacon in the oven works out great! Just place it in a shallow cookiesheet. If you like it less greasy set your cookie cooling racks in the cookie sheet and put the bacon on top of that.
