please talk about the lamp or the light inside the softbox

I ordered a 150cm diffuser with eggcrate grid for £55 (US$70) on Black Friday, and it's a terrific product, but it makes my office feel like I've got the Voyager space probe hanging over my desk. I ended up boxing it back up and replacing with a 65cm diffuser.

much better! :) what i would suggest in edit, stuff with numbers like: 55cm, 80cm, price etc., that you show on screen. It's much easier to follow and remember when i see a number on screen.

I just saw a bunch of videos from you. I really like your simple explanations. But I didn't found the answer to my question, so I am asking in the comments. I always wear a cap and sit at a PC. I record with the Sony Alpha 6400 + Kit Lens and the Elgato Ring Light. I do not manage to: 1) Keep a consistent skin tone (switches from blue to white to red) 2) To exposure the Elgato Greenscreen properly for Color key (The Greenscreen is literally 1 millimeters behind my chair) 3) Reduce the shadows that my cap casts on my face (pain point for me) Do you think a soft box will help (especially for point 3)?

1 sounds like your white balance is shifting to me. Have you tried setting it to daylight? 2 for the most effective green screen you ideally need it as evenly lit as possible, a soft box would help with this. 3 no, I would say get a smaller cheep panel and put it on the opposite side of you face to fill in that shadow. Hope that helps 😁

Footage looks more contrasty and digital with smaller soft box, which I like more

I am trying to set up my own youtube channel. So I am watching you. Would be great to follow your journey from the U.K to Barbados to fix my room and enjoy some food and rum.

Here's a tip: just point the light at the wall, and you get the softest light comparable to the size of a 20-meter softbox

Hi Chris, I really like your videos and your amazing set up. I am thinking of buying a godox umbrella like yours 80cm (currently £71.99 on Amazon) is that the one you have as I know in the video said it’s not available anymore? Also do you still recommend the SL-60W as a key light? Many thanks, Mandy

The little one could be a 65mm/ 21 or 25 inch and the bigger on a 95mm ala 35 inch or bigger I guess..

Maybe it is just me but i like the smaller one better, unless you like that dark look which reminds me of scary movies vs the smaller box more light gives a happier feel. I mean why are we in the dark with a light shining on half your face, i get it is a thing just not for me. Very dull and unnatural unless you are possibly in a movie, almost like you dont want any light at all. Got exactly what i was looking for in this video.

I go between 3 modifiers for most of my work, all depending on space. My two main ones are a 105cm parabolic, which is just lovely and the 2nd is a 65cm rice bowl (similar to the Light Dome Mini 2 but with 2 layers of diffusion and an inner ring to get rid of the hotspot. I love the 105cm one though because it's close enough to a book-light look. Great to see how the Mini-Dome 2 actually performs though 🙂
