Looks way better. I suggest that you keep your stock wheels for winter driving. It may look silly, but you'll be safe, and no salt on those awesome rims. That's what I did with no regrets.

Hey Pretzel, I appreciate the feedback. Amazingly, the handling is still very nice. Keeping the stock Sahara shocks, and springs with the AEV 2" lift, keeps the ride similar to stock on the road. Surprisingly, and maybe it can be attributed to the wider stance of the tires, the ride is very nice. Cheers.

Great Video! I have made my order for the AEV Savegre II's and eagerly anticipate their arrival. I will also be ordering the 2" inch spacer lift kit aswell so its great to get a look at how your jeep looks and what i can look forward too. ill likely go 285/70/17 tyres because here in Australia you cant have any wheel poke out of the guards, they have to be flush or under.

Hey 4wardadventures, with the 8 speed, it doesn't seem to require re-gearing. The ProCal Snap module corrected the speedometer, and the Jeep with the 8 speed auto seems to be handling the larger tires amazingly. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.

Question, when you installed the AEV spacer I noticed you didn't install the caster correction brackets? How's the ride and how was the alignment? Thanks in advance
@CheaperJeeperTV
@CheaperJeeperTV Жыл бұрын
I believe that the engineers at AEV determined that for a 2” lift, the shocks spacer brackets and spring spacers will be good enough. Plus they included longer sway bar links. It rides nicely. I did go off road a few times and enjoyed having the lift and larger tires.
@stephencarbajal5657

@@CheaperJeeperTV thanks for the quick response, I personally spoke to AEV and one rep told me no you didn't need the caster correction brackets but when I went to order it yesterday they told me yes I'd need them as well as a steering damper being I was going with 37's? I've seen a hand full of these kits installed including quadratec and they didn't install the brackets so I'm alittle confused on how what to do? Fyi I have a gladiator mojave and trying to keep my fox shocks and springs .

When I use the ProCal unit to reprogram for the larger diameter tires, the computer retains the change I made. If I switch out the larger tires for smaller stock ones, then I need to use the ProCal unit to change the computer settings back to the stock tires diamter. I hope that helps..

What kind of mpg are you getting now that you’ve lifted your jeep and put the larger tires on? I saw in a previous video that you we’re getting around 25mpg with stock tires. I’m seriously looking at getting a JL as my daily driver. The JL mpg looks like something I could live with as a daily driver.

Hey Joe, With the larger tires, on the highway, which is where most of my milage is accumulated, I am seeing anywhere from 10.5 to 11.5 L/100km, which is between 22-20 mpg US gallons, or 26.9 50 24.5 mpg CAN gallons. My tire pressure is usually between 30-33 psi, and I am using regular unleaded. I hope that is helpful. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Going to 35" tires and 2" lift might not require wheel spacers.
@CheaperJeeperTV
@CheaperJeeperTV 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Razvan, One must take into account the backspace on the wheels(riims). In my research I liked how the backspace on the AEV rims ultimately positioned the tires, thereby eliminating any requirement for spacers.

Hey Erick, Thats another thing I forgot to mention. I took it out on a secondary highway, and was able to get into 8th gear relatively easily, going between 80 to 100 km/hr. I haven't gotten it out onto a superhighway yet, but imagine it will there also, but maybe not as easily or as often.

My apologies. For the wheels and tires that I put on my Jeep, the only thing I did was I used the pro Cal unit to adjust the speedometer. The eight speed automatic transmission of the wrangler JL seems to accommodate the new tires that I put on just fine. I have not had any issues.

Question on the subscriber tip: Does that mean adding 33" tires without a lift gives the Jeep a lift of 1.5" automatically?
@CheaperJeeperTV
@CheaperJeeperTV 3 жыл бұрын
If you had tires that were exactly 31", and you swap them out for tires that are exactly 33", then when mounted on the axle, that 3" difference is divided to 1.5" upwards into the wheel well, and the other 1.5" below the axle, lifting the jeeps lowest point of contact 1.5". I hope that helps.
@myblujl7503
@myblujl7503 3 жыл бұрын
@@CheaperJeeperTV Not all 31" and 33" tires are 31" and 33". After measuring my ride, I did get about 1.5" of lift. I guess the 31's were a little on the small side, and the 33's a little big.
@LizardBoy007
@LizardBoy007 3 жыл бұрын
Going from 31" to 33" is a 1" lift, not a 1.5" lift. Think about it: the axle is only 1" higher than it was before because the 2" difference is split between below the axle and above the axle. As stated above, the *actual* size of the tires matter.
