Yes Hip-Hop is a very popular and highly succesful music-genre and its definetly not "unimportant", but it's not the most succesful. But it’s definitely not more successful than hip/hop rap. These rap artists and concerts and other media generate the majority of the money made by songs worldwide. Not pop, it’s rap. You don’t even hear pop music unless it’s coming from the radio or a TV commercial. Rap is everywhere. What I said before still stands. No other genre of music has as many subcategories as rap does.
