I love Lark Lane ❤ We used to drink at Keith's, Albert's and Marantos. Thanks for the lovely reminder 😊

I had a drink in Keith's with a girlfriend (many moons ago) and she binned me that night. Must've been because I thought the drinks were overpriced :) thanks for watching.

Great video. gives people a good idea of Lark Lane if they didn't know about it. Some very unique shops and galleries there. Always like to go to the record fair at the old police station. Hope people will visit the area after your video.

Thank you very much. Mooching through old records sounds great, I still have a record player and Love the scratchy sound. Yep, hopefully a few of the independent businesses get extra custom from someone who watches this vid. If they do, hopefully they tell them Scouse Farm was the reason they visited and they Subscribe :) Thanks for watching.

Great video. I worked in Lark Lane in the mid 80s for a wildlife charity in the Old Police Station. Just 2 pubs back then! The lane had a real village feel and a great little community. The locals back then never seemed to stray too far! They had the shops on Aigburth Rd at one end and Sefton Park at the other. Great memories thanks mate 👍

very happy to know the video brought back some good memories for you. There's a few other videos from around Sefton park on the channel so have a peep if you get a chance. Thanks for watching.

@ScouseFarm My first job working for the wildlife charity (1984) was to design a leaflet offering locals a free hanging basket of barrel with packets of wildflower seeds. Today many houses on the side streets of Lark Lane have wildflowers outside. Makes me smile wondering if my leaflet many years ago started that! 😀

Excellent Vlog, I like lark lane but not on a Friday or Saturday night. Have a good story went the Tapas few years ago and sitting in the restaurant and they sat Jordan Henderson the Liverpool FC captain next to us. I nodded and he did the same and we both said hello. My wife learned across and said “do you know him”. I said “that’s Jordan Henderson” Her answer was “who is Jordan Henderson”. He heard her and he looked at me and we both laughed. He asked if I was a Liverpool supporter and asked the waitress for a pen and signed the napkin. When he left my wife said “what if you didn’t want his signature, that would have been awkward” 🤣🤣🤣. Keep up the great work

Always loved Lark Lane, even going back as far as the 70s it had a character and a little 'historic class' about it, almost a feeling of "if you come down here, you'll find a place with a totally different look, atmosphere and feel" . Looks like there's been plenty of renovation and refurbishment yet still an original look.....last time I was there was 1976 :)

It's still a bit different and it's good to see a lot of independent shops still doing well. Location is perfect being so close to the park. Thanks for watching.

I remember Keith's opening. Used to go to Lark Lane in the 80s for herbals. I am conflicted when I see the changes, but at least it is a beacon in the darkness to some degree. I'll have that. If you could have seen the adverts that I was confronted with to watch this you would have winced. ❤

It was a nice little walk but I'm looking forward to going back for some food and drink when it warms up. I agree, some of the adverts don't fit the videos that's for sure. Thanks for watching.

I haven't been to Lark Lane for years. As you have alluded to. This area is well known for its eaterys and used to be frequented by many musicians and artists. Apparently, many students now socialise in this area. We must give this a visit.

you are right about pseudoindependents. I know the area well. The bar on your left is Milo Lounge which is a major chain, it's the cheaper version of Cosy Club and are all called the something lounge ie in town there's Brasco Lounge, in New Brighton there's another Lounge whose name escapes me. Gran Caffe on your right next to Keith's is a rapidly growing albeit local chain- they own Botanico Woolton, Gran Caffe williamson sq, the cafe in Duke St, also Il Forno. The Albert used to be part of Yates but now it's a local consortium/chain. Elif are the same Turkish family who has the monopoly on all the Turkish places in the Merseyside area along with the Italian place across the road called Al Dente. Some of the 'independent gift shops' are owned by one person too and a lot of the stuff is Temu at an inflated price. The Green Man pub's owner has loads in Liverpool, his specialty is doing up old bars, google Gutmann or Guttman forget the spelling, he also has the caff on the same side called Garden and possibly the Schoolhouse opposite. I think Keith's, the Indian restaurant and the caff up the stairs plus Lunko bakery are the only true independents left
@ScouseFarm3 күн бұрын
Wow, I didn't expect that level of ownership but it just goes to show you can't be certain anymore. Thanks for the info my friend and thanks for watching.
@DesertHeat3 күн бұрын
10 years ago it wasn't like that at all, it all seems to be post covid. That chainy 'French' place used to be a lovely actual French-owned independent called Bistro Noir plus there was a BYO Indian and an old school Chinese, a nice Jamaican place and an old fashioned Greek Cypriot taverna. Avocado toast galore now haha. Love the channel!
