@bignickenergy2042 You said, props to Connor for fighting 3 different weight classes up. So yes, they are 3 different weight classes up from 145. But grammar is also important, and when you say 3 different weight classes UP FROM 145, that would mean him fighting at 185. But now that I know how you meant it, what you actually should have said was, props to Conner for fighting in three different weight classes. Not 3 different weight classes up, my guy.

It definitely wasn’t a good business move to tempt fate after squeaking out a tough-fought victory to even the score. He would have risked a loss that would damage his brand when there wasn’t even a belt in the line when he had an easier avenue in fighting guys like Alvarez. Unfortunately for him (and what would appear to be to Dana White as well) the LW division was filled with killers after that.
@MansterBear
@MansterBear Жыл бұрын
@@larrycera1943 I think the worst call Conor has made was taking the time off to fight Floyd. He should have stayed, defended his belts, and been in good practice by time Khabib and DP rose up in 155. Granted, I don't know that even without ring rust Conor could have beat Khabib... But I definitely think taking 2 years off, then jumping in the cage with Khabib is not a good move. Then another year or so off and to Dustin, who would be champ if it wasn't for Khabib. (Sure Cowboy was in there but that was like 30 seconds and doesn't count lol).
@larrycera1943
@larrycera1943 Жыл бұрын
@@MansterBear yeah I can see it both ways: it is also possibly true that he never would have had such success at 155 since his power isn’t the same. He might have never made a climb up that division, and hence only got the title due to an immediate title shot. The guys now are people who never would make the 145 division due to their size? And can take much bigger shots, bigger than even what Poirier can take after getting used to a bigger size

@@bignickenergy2042 I’m not sure what there is to misunderstand. In a discussion about being inactive for years then jumping into a fight with DP, a 30 second match doesn’t really do much to shake off ring rust. This is why I love McGregor. He’s not scared to move up a weight and put his reputation on the line. Unlike Khabib is. Khabib nearly dies cutting weight. Literally he almost died one time. He walks around heavier than Covington. But stays away from 170 because he knows that’s where all the wrestlers are. Always going against strikers at 155McGregor lost his first fight against Nate at 170 and then immediately got the rematch. Big difference between both of those guys

At the end of the second fight, both fighters showed respect and humility. Conor gave Nate props for literally being a walking zombie, able to take huge shots over and over and over and keep pushing forward, and after the decision was announced that Conor had won the second match, Nate even told him good job.
