I have always considered it a honor that I was able to see Larry Bird play in person. There are no words to explain the privilage it is to see him play live!!!

There will never be another Larry Bird

It's nice to see younger generations give Bird respect. I truly believe that Bird at his peak was the best all-around player to ever play basketball. No other player had all the strengths to the degree that Bird did.

Larry Bird never complained and played through so much pain . An amazing role model for young player

Larry bird spent the night before the game in traction. When he pushed Larry it was after he fell and broke his cheekbone and came back. The pain he played through must have been excruciating.He will always be my personal goat. I watched him in college and all throughout his career. ❤

It wasn't just about Bird's leadership on his team, it was also the fear he inspired in the opposing team.

I was born in 1965. Always considered it fortunate that I grew up in 4 sport city like Boston. During this time I had experienced many highs and lows with the Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox ,and Celtics. From Orr and Esposito, Hog HannaH rotor Brady, Yaztremski to Big Papi, Havlicek to Paul Pierce. To me , through my eyes , night in /night out, on tv or live, there is Larry. Legend. There was nobody in any sport like him. Like Terrell Brandon once said, “ He’s a physiologically assassin “. I think Bird is the best all around player in NBA history . His fundamental skills, mental and physical toughness, will to win ,and ability to play mind games and with the opposition was what made him the GOAT.

Love your commentary! You're so right about the mental aspect of Bird being out of the game and how it affected the other players. Great reaction as always!

Chuck never reached the level of the acknowledged greats, I never heard of him until I watched old clips of Larry's games,

You know I'm surprised that the team just didn't go crazy on person and brawl it out. Remember when Robert Parish punched Bill Laimbeer in retaliation for a cheap shot on Larry?

Jordan, Bird, Magic are the "THREEGOATS".... non exist only one goat.

Great reaction! It seemed obvious to me that Chuck intentionally went for Bird's painful back. The crowd saw it the same way by their reaction. I can't help but think less of Chuck for that move but Bird handled it like the Legend that he is.

Oh No, Clyde Drexler and Jordan both played with a bad knee. They only had surgeries when the other one was. Most people don't know about this. Totally old school. Thx

Chuck's back hit on purpose, but he did make it look otherwise pretty good.

Chuck aka the Rifle man. Lot of ballers then you have not heard of
@jayperez9553 ай бұрын
The hit to the back ? Intentional ? Yes. Dirty as in trying to hurt Bird ? No. That's the way they game was back then , it was very physical unlike today. Today's players wouldn't be able to take the physicality the game had back then. Bird though would have even crazier stats if he were playing in today's league. He had so many elements to his game that you can't teach. There's so many reasons why he is known as Larry Legend.

Yes, Chuck hit Larry on purpose. He hit him straight on Larry's spine. The dude knew what he did.
@davidarnel40223 ай бұрын
Chuck was a streaky player. He’d be hot one day and not even relevant the next. He would generally carry on like a big mouth dbag when he was hot And was timid. And not noticed when he wasn’t.
