It was so fun for me to dive back into all the photos I've shot over the years at Luftgekuhlt. I hope you guys enjoyed it. The show itself is worth checking out in the future if you like air cooled Porsches.

Another great video Larry.. been following since the hoonigan days. I may have missed it but i was hoping you would ask how Patrick connected with Jeff as it seems like he is equally a part of what makes this show so great.

Thanks Larry, Luft looks like such such an amazing event, even just from this perspective. And for your show - I'm 55, Irish and sooo outside the car world you show. I've loved most of the shows - a different perspective to Ian Tyrrell Classics😀

No disrespect to Larry - but I think a lot of the credit goes to Jeff Zwart for setting up the cars with photography in mind.

@@Finnspin_unicycles True. But this about having that midas touch. It reminds of that although my father and have I the same tools, I wasn’t able to plaster drywall with the same finesse and finish as he can.

One of my favorite episodes. The video of the cars (exceptional variety) alone was enjoyable but your "digging" into the background and thoughts of Patrick in putting Luft together was so interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing.

As someone from the Midwest (Michigan), some of this is lost for translation. BUT, TransAm & SCCA of the 60's & 70's, Indy, small tracks, Wide World of Sports, magazines, MIS road course, Elkhart Lake, etc... All were the foundations, reasons to research, seeking history... & since I started with an Argus C3, then a Nikkormat ftn, & finally a F3 hp, I looked for the angle, the speed, the twitch, that I could see in my head, trying to recreate in the darkroom... Wasted a LOT of film & paper, lol, but to see what you've put together isn't just Art, but a vision for others to aspire to... Thanx greatly for allowing us to see things with different eyes & places we'll never get to visit ! Kudo's, for being that champion.

I love Luft even though I’ve never had the opportunity to attend. I love what they stand for, the community they have built and all the amazing people that attend. I really hope to attend some day seeing photos of the events are always amazing. Luft and their whole team inspire me everyday. As a smaller event organizer I completely understand the passion as I am the same way when it comes to Cars and Coffee Miami I live, sleep and breathe the event for the passion on the community. Getting to see people get together and share passion is what it’s all about.

i liked plastic or metal that can be pushed back into place. porsche used to have rubber around car to absorb some moving energy from crash, and some spring sort of stuff at front and rear. porsche overall was always glorifying functionality in decoration. they should go back to that way of doing it in a optional setup for their current cars at least as limited production if it doesnt sell

how come hypermiling is not a big thing in car world of mostly poor and increasingly poorer people given rising cost of living, restricting laws, emissions, sustunaility etc? its about minimizing cost of ownership but its also fun at least when you cant go fast because traffiic, speed enforcement, etc you can you can have fun hypermiling. you can do it as a tra layer of acomlishment to chase when driving fast too. its a good wy to cope with having a boring car too, without stressing yourself by switching focus between music, social media, and driving without layers of precieved acomplishment. hypermiling racing rules are to get to where u have to get to on time, while accelerating, braking, steering, minimally and steadily, byuild momentum before uphills and on downhills, so its easier for engine to build speed with less power. for combustion car you make most power closer to optimal rpm as defined by bfsc chart of engine, consider that max fuel power combustion chamber also allows fuel to push the car more per amount of fuel used, so coast more after doing these then do it again to keep up with trafffic or get to destination quicker.
@kalmmonke5037
@kalmmonke5037 2 жыл бұрын
like pitstops, you check tire pressures, lubricant etc. hypermiling decreases costs in tire, brake, engine, lubricant, usage wear costs in money, natural resources, emissions and maintainence time, for customers, manufactuerer etc. choosing right car is also part of hypermiling, ie lighter weight cars, its often not mentioned that they cost everyone in tax funded road repair downtimes more so than lighter cars, and are more harm to lightweight car users in crash, but its also not statistically very safer to be in heavy car vs lighter, as explained in aptera owners club video on safttey. notice i mentioned steering and braking, minimally and steadily, that includes maintaining momentum around turns. e you may be better off powering through a turn than braking than speeding up again in leaving a turn, even in regenerative braking because more energy going into and out of battery degrades battery more, ev batteries are not recyled in mass, they become chemical pollutant, similar to micro plastics, phalates etc causing cancer, acting as a estrogen in food waster supply, etc.
@kalmmonke5037
@kalmmonke5037 2 жыл бұрын
sustainability and emissions is a motivator in hypermiling because human need purpose beyond their wellbeing in life, and we are very social creatures that empathsize... so why not gamify achieving a enjoy a harmony of peoples interests instead of ONLy obsessing over games like having the biggets house, the latest fancy clothes , the biggest deek, etc. harmonies are part of beauty, it is to be maximally different in one way yet maximally similar in another way.example: just like a how more harmony between purposefulness and words used in a speech, is more beuatiful, like in poetry, teaching, computer programming, etc. example: two sides of butteflys wings, or looking at a gorodn murray t50 from the front with the driver seat in middle.
@kalmmonke5037
@kalmmonke5037 2 жыл бұрын
in video, point out parrallel between ways of gameing in life vs ways of gaming in driving, the parraellel in lightweight racing vs a more calm hypermiling
