In this episode of "Capturing Car Culture," Larry surrounds himself in what can only be described as a scene from the infamous racing game, Gran Turismo. Great video. A minor correction: The Bond film Toyota 2000 GT was driven only by the character Aki, played by Japanese actress Akiko Wakabayashi. Connery was too tall to even fit behind the wheel, and the script called for Aki to rescue Bond and make the complete getaway - maybe the most active female character in any of the early Connery 007 films. She's retired, and still lives in Japan. Arguably if the 2000 GT is a first JDM car, Akiko is the original JDM driver.

Aki was behind the wheel but she didn't know how to drive... so the 2000 GT was actually towed, when she was behind the wheel.

That Toyota 2000GT convertible is something special because the director requested a convertible but all of the cars built were hardtops so that’s a one off.

That is just mind blowing, he is like the JDM Jay Leno!!! How would you even begin to try and get your head around looking after so many cars, finding parts (Very rare parts at that), my head would explode just at the thought of it all. Fair play to the owner for letting the lads in and filming it, was a true privilege to see and I'm sure it left a pretty huge impression on them as well.

Sorry to be that guy, but im pretty sure that 944 is actually a 924 Carerra RS. One of my favorite cars ever so Im a bit biased. I believe the 944 race cars had box flares and the offset scoop is on the opposite side.

Well done lads, this car collection is humbling, I use to see the 944 GTR in the 80's at race events, we all wanted one ,just could never afford it, plus they were some of the rarest cars, BMW's and Audi's of that era were 10 a penny, not the 944 GTR, you guys produce awesome jaw dropping videos 👍
