@@DMU386 thats true but Larry has always had that attitude of not really caring and speaking his mind 100%. he says in his early stand up days he struggled bc he would fight with the audience and straight up walk off right after walking on lol and the whole blowing up and quitting SNL then coming back the next day. he is the funniest man alive!

The way he turns and addresses the audience just as if they were a person. Speaking in a natural tone. He's pretty much the only talk show guest who would do that, yet it makes perfect sense.

In the 80s, he dated a woman whose father wrote the book Revolutionary Road. The first time he was supposed to meet him, the daughter got held up and he ended up having to spend 2 hours at a restaurant alone with the most intimidating man he'd ever met. This is what inspired the Seinfeld episode where they meet Elaine's father.

@@Joseph1NJ , Seinfeld was hired by NBC, then Jerry asked David to write the show with him. Seinfeld was already doing pretty well for himself before the show. Without the show, we definitely wouldn’t know who Larry David was. I think they would both say they were both the brains behind the show. It wouldn’t have been great without both of them.

no, bullsh*t. He's responsible for maybe 25% of the show at most. Over the years, they had a lot of talented writers on staff that came up with a lot of those episodes besides LD. The one person most responsible for making it so funny is Jerry Seinfeld, who not only acted, but also wrote and directed many episodes. It was Jerry who was extremely successful at most everything he attempted that threw a lifeline to Larry David, who had failed at everything he attempted in life to help him with the new "Seinfeld" show. Yes, LD was very important in the success of the show, but he paled in comparison the Seinfeld.

I wish someone could find the show where Andrea Martin was on and she absolutely rips Schaffer apart. You could see Paul just boiling. And I'm pretty sure Andrea Martin was never on the show again. It was a classic beat down on how Schaffer was actually nerdy and not the hipster he tried to portray. Martin had known him many years earlier in Canada. Damn, I'd love to see that again.
