I am so touched: His critical parents, his consequent self-doubt and low self-esteem, his increasing anger and frustration with the morons in his life, and people in general, his lifting out of the abyss that he was in by a seemingly mysterious hand. I am totally touched. He even checked out places for himself in New York in case he was going to end up homeless. But his destiny/God/Creator/ made sure he was forced to use his talents. I'm not envious of his success or money, I just wish I had someone guiding me in this life to discover and use my God given talents. I suppose we're all here for different purposes. I, too, have a grammar obsession and I hate the misuse of the word "you." You is the second person, direct sense. It-the word "you"-is not a substitute for "me," "I," "us," "we" and so on. The word "you" is not a substitute for any group of people or individuals and should only be used in the singular form.
