The first 30 seconds is like a Seinfeld script. Larry David was the true unsung hero when Seinfeld was on the air - the general public always saw his name in the credits but he wasn't really in the spotlight then as much as Jerry. When Larry left Seinfeld, the last two years - while still funny - definitely experienced a tonal shift in its comedy. It got more ridiculous and over-the-top but it still somehow worked.
