would be cool if you could plant things like apples, bananas etc. that will continue to grow fruit but you don't replant them, just trim the branches, being able to make apple pie or banana bread or ferment them into alcohol that you can sell to a merchant. Same with potatoes, ferment them and make vodka/alcohol that you can sell/drink or use as fuel.

I am curious if you would really want your Larre harvesting seeds in the end? Consider that this game includes genetic traits in plants, and that each time a plant goes to seed it introduces the chance for mutation. Seems to me that you would engineer the "perfect" plant in the hand tended garden with the genetics equipment, and then you would have the larre harvesting the mature "perfect" plants before seeding and replanting the clones. The time gained by not waiting for the plants to go to seed should more than make up for the losses of replanting clones. It would also have the added benefit of simpler code as well.

2:47:35 You might be able to use Padded walls on this side to make it look like the trays are supported by the floor, and you'd only need them on one row of flooring. Don't really remember how thick they are but I think they are fairly thick, enough to cover the distance to the trays at least.

At first I started watching these because I wanted to learn how to play as I thought the game looked interesting, but it became quickly apparent to me that I have no idea what is going on. However I still keep up with these videos as the occasional explosion/decompression are enjoyable enough to watch you stress over (sorry), and a perfect white noise to hang around in the background. 7/10, needs more explosions.

My concern with larre is, if the environmental get screwed and keeps killing all your plants, what's to stop larre from using all your seeds up?

Yeah, that's a potential issue, though the risk of that is quite low in my setup now. It wouldn't be too hard to set up a kill switch based on a pipe sensor if you wanted to though

@@Flipsie That is when you use the `hcf` command. Well, assuming the `f` in `hcf` isn't literal. I don't think it is, but this is one of the games where it *could* be literal.

I would guess that the easiest insurance against the seeds being used up would be to have one or two full sets of replacement seeds on a shelf somewhere. And the best would be to have the seed overflow go into an emergency seed storage that LArRE can't access, and only have the overflow once _that_ is full go to composting. Yes, you need to manually move those emergency seeds into the chutes, which seems inconvenient. But if you had an environmental mess up, then you wouldn't want circuitry to decide that it's time to risk the seeds, you'd _want_ that to be a manual decision.
