It's so great to hear Larry McKenna still going strong. It makes me yearn to be back in Philadelphia, but I've been yearning for that for over 20 years.

you can take parker, getz, stitts , and all those other guys. but i'm stickin with Larry! every note fits the tune . i also love Scott Hamilton . i don't listen to any body else these days . i want music not fast shuckin and jiven with meaningless fast runs with a raspy tone . listen to that sweet tone of Larry's when he is telling his story ! what a guy that Larry !!!!!

Parker was the master of playing incredibly romantic and melodic like Larry and Scott do but he managed to do it equally well in any tempo. When he played fast it had all the same nice voice leading and skips and turns and rhythmic intricacy
