Larry learned much from Mr. Gironda, and proved that his not so broad shoulders could be really impressive...R.I.P. Mr. Scott !

R.I.P indeed

Not true. Larry Scott's shoulders were very broad-like. Feminine you might even say.

Great video. Larry Scott had one of the greatest physiques of all time. Way ahead of his time. Drop sets always work the best. His biceps are some of the best of all time.
@ForgottenFitness2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. He was a real innovator.
@drygordspellweaver876110 ай бұрын
He called this "double dipping" and the intention was to use really heavy weights. The bounce at the bottom is to get the weight started and bounce at the top is to get the maximum contraction (where it's impossible to fully contract the shoulder with that weight). This allows the negative/concentric phase to hit the delts with the heavy load on the way down. The drop sets of course are meant to add volume and intensity because such a heavy weight would be impossible to keep repping. Try it out with 50-60lb dumbells and you'll get more of a intuitive feel of the dipping.

Yes, that is correct. The weight I used here was not heavy enough to really feel the effect he was shooting for.

Outstanding demo you performed. I watched the Larry Scott/Benfatto original video and barely picked up half the movement. I watched you perform it and listen to some of your tips and......Boom! I finally got it now. Your video was better than Larry Scott's for me personally to learn the correct movement. Thank you so much. Really appreciate your thoroughness and detailed explanations. This channel is a goldmine! You are a great contributor to the natural bodybuilding community. Keep up the good work fine sir!.

Was this supposed to workout the lateral head or rear delts? It looks like a mix of both? Yet you said “keeping the lateral or medial head out? And the position looks like it’ll also incorporate some trap involvement via retracting the scapula. A detailed reply would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How long did it take you to get the proper form? Larry said “this movement was the hardest move to get down”.
@ForgottenFitness2 жыл бұрын
Well, you are already assuming that my form is perfect. It is not lol. It is, at best, a “good” representation of the exercise. My arms are probably pulled back a bit far, which is bad when attempting to isolate only the side and rear delts. Also, I’m not dipping quite enough at the top. Things like this I would imagine take many years to get down. Muscle memory is key.

What you thoughts about Reeves Shrug (a.k.a Reeves deadlift)?
@ForgottenFitness2 жыл бұрын
I talked about this on my Instagram. The Reeves deadlift was not originally an exercise trained for hypertrophy. It was only used a few times by Reeves as a demonstration of strength. It would be cool to do a video on, but it is no bodybuilding movement.

Great delt exercise but more than one drop set is overkill. For advanced lifters a great end of a,hard and heavy workout pump. For beginners that many reps will be counter productive. It took me yrs to realize less is more. I see boney dudes at the gym just repping light weight and going nowhere. If you don't see some growth or strenght in 60 days then you're doing something wrong. Just my 2cents.
@ForgottenFitness2 жыл бұрын
Completely valid take. This is just Larry’s preferred way of training.

Good demonstration but believe you.contradicted yourself- you said "I can see the rear delta and side delts are flexing but side delts were not flexing " contradiction or no ?
@michaelmaguire21622 жыл бұрын
momentum plays no part in muscle growth since it, in effect, reduces the load on the muscle...
@ForgottenFitness2 жыл бұрын
Ik, but in Larry’s mind it would allow more weight to be used which he felt was beneficial in deltoid growth. He mentioned this in Loaded Guns.
@dusk61597 ай бұрын
I guess that the tension and relevant parts brought by db or cable lateral raises complement well the delts, with this one
