Ok, if there is any group that can convert me to listening to Country, it is this group. I'm glad to have discovered this group with your help and nudging! I really liked this one!

Seeing them in person is absolutely mind-blowing! I had a front-row seat in October’21 (took 2 years of postponing due to COVID), right smack in front of Tim! Tim says it’s “a party”, & it definitely is. I couldn’t talk for a week, my voice was shot so badly!

here's a fun fact you may or may not have heard. Home Free was not a country acapella group. it was only at the Sing Off competition after doing a country cover for audition that the producers suggested that could be their ticket because that might be a fresh approach. i think it was even suggested to them that their chances of getting on the show would be greater if they presented as a country group. so...the acapella country group was born.

And at least half of them didn't want to go country at first but tried it anyway. Now we're here and the success speaks for itself. They still jam in other genres which shows their range.

Regardless of genre, Home Free's vocal genius really does need to be appreciated--they do any genre better than any instrumental accompaniment IMHO. (Remember that "harmonica" is all Adam Rupp!!) Not to mention--their breath control is brilliantly on display here!!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

When I was a child, my Dad drove Country and Bluegrass into my skull until I refused to listen to it. When my daughter was a young teenager, she started listening to it, particularly Garth Brooks. She brought me back to it, and I can appreciate it, particularly now Chris Stapleton. He’s more blues to me then Country at times. Home free make it all sound good!

Never a fan of country music myself, Home Free mostly always adds more beat to the country songs with the beatboxing (instead of banjos and fiddles) so I can totally listen to this type of country music. Like someone said they upgrade their covers. I like that and it's totally true.

This is truly phenomenal! Incredible! Or really, there are just no words for it. Although I started thinking why they didn't let Chance do the lead because it really was a song for him. But then he came anyway and they all sang so wonderfully. What is Adam so inhuman freaking good!!!!!! The video is only on Facebook..It's so good!!! Actually you need no other groups if you have Home Free !!!😉 They really can do everything! Any genre, High or low, Slow or fast, serious or funny. It doesn't matter, Home Free do it!!

I saw Home Free on Wednesday of this week. Hearing this live was beyond astonishing! Knowing what was coming up, I was watching Tim and Austin closely as they each visibly took a huge inhale to make it all the way through that last bit to make it through that drawn out “crowing.” There are no appropriate words to describe their talent and skills!
@leslieoneal4464
@leslieoneal4464 2 жыл бұрын
You would understand the harmonies/melody thing if you watched the video. 👍 In the 1st part, Tim is singing melody with Austin in a tight harmony along with him.. while Chance (singing that bass line!) & Rob are backing. Then, in the second part, Chance & Rob take over, with Tim & Austin in the back! Then, Tim & Austin come back in and blow us away with that long note on "rooster's crowing"! Talk about breath control!! 😳❤ And, yes, that really is Adam making that harmonica sound! Lol PS: I get tickled that so many people don't realize this entire song is about running off to get down-n-dirty in a pickup down by the creek! LOL 😂

You need to watch the video on FB! 1st & 3rd verses Tim & Austin, 2nd & 4th verses Rob & Chance, all sung in perfect complete time with each other & in one breath per verse (as Garth Brooks sings it) and Adam Rupp is the standout actually showing he's NOT playing a harmonica!. One of their best I think.

I'm a born and raised NY city girl who never liked or listened to country. These boys changed all of that, although I only listen to it when they sing it. Now, I have tickets to see them TWICE here in MA in Aug. I can't wait!! A song I would suggest, and just came out last month is "The Driver". Absolutely fantastic. They also just came out with "Forever and Ever Amen" cover by Randy Travis which is, as always, incredible.

You could have listened to another verse or two of this, couldn’t you? Adam’s “nomonica” is something else, Austin plays that particular “instrument” quite well, too, you know; they all have some particular skill outside singing. Rob’s whistling is a joy! To call this band “country” is perhaps a misnomer, they do so many genres, and their harmonies and arrangements are a delight! Well done, I like it when you give in! 🙂

This is an incredibly hard song to sing because you have really good breath control to make it through the verses. Adam on the non-monica is sort of the star of this one. That electric guitar squeal at the end end sounded incredible and I wouldn't doubt it was a bit painful to do.

I don't care for country either, but I like this, and I'm a hard-core Home Fry! Also, if you like acapella, but not particularly country, I encourage you to check out Voice Play. They have a unique style, different from either PTX or Home Free. They are truly the the third leg of the world class acapella trifecta. They do it all - from pop, to rock, to Disney medleys, to Broadway and movie medleys. And they do them all with incredible talent and creativity. Favorites: Wicked Medley, Warriors, Dream On (yes, Aerosmith!), The Dragonborn Comes, Hoist the Colors (EPIC), My Mother Told Me, Eleanor Rigby. Queen in 5 minutes ... and so many more!

In their concert, when they did this....Austin joined in with the "no-monica". Garth sang this at a concert while sailing over the audience's heads, hanging from a cable. Each verse is sung with only one breath. When Tim is singing lead.....that's Chance down deep in the cellar holding down the bass.

You make me giggle so much because you're fighting this losing battle so hard! 😉 I hear you. I was the same way. I never liked the hard country either, but the twist HF puts on all their songs melts my heart! They take the edge off for me. So my advice to you.... just go with it and enjoy those lush harmonies and complex arrangements. 😄 The problem is, you've got Tim, a Texas boy, Austin, a Georgia boy, and Chance, an Alabama boy. So those 'deep south' accents will always bring out the country; they can't help it. Plus they grew up with country and gospel roots. That's what makes them a great vocal country band. But... try to overlook that and stop thinking of it as country and those harmonies will get you over it in no time!! Another fun one you'd enjoy is "Meet In The Middle ". Fun song and video, and yes, it's country but you won't mind when you hear it! - (And... They have a slew of contemporary, blues, jazzy, and pop songs to choose from as well). Btw: you mentioned Dolly Parton... I challenge you to listen to the guy's "live" version of: "9 to 5". It will blow your mind!! And... I guarantee you'll love it! 😃 Home Free - 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, October 27, 2015 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHm8mIpmm5imgac

I totally understand what you mean about the twangy country music. I’m not into it either (except for Randy Travis. He had a slightly twangy sound, but I love his voice. He can’t sing anymore since he had a stroke years ago). I don’t care for Bluegrass either. I do love everything Home Free has covered, though! They have a style all their own. I do like certain country music artists, but mostly Keith Urban because some of his stuff has a slight Rock sound to it. That’s more my genre from my era (70’s Classic Rock through 90’s Alternative/Grunge). Home Free has introduced so many songs I’ve either never liked or heard prior to their covers. I am so happy you liked this one. Home Free is definitely addictive!

They did a cover of the Doobie Brothers, Listen to the Music, and Boys to Men - The End of the Road. They cover more than just country.

You should listen to other country songs they do. Try Die a Happy Man, I Can’t Outrun You, What We Ain’t Got. You might really enjoy those. I don’t like a lot of country but I love those songs. And they don’t just do country. Blue Ain’t Your Color, Love Train, Meant to Be.
