Larry, this guys info is very good for general arm wrestling training. As time goes on I would tailor the workout more for you as a person, general lifts for now are great though. These are definitely lifts I have spent years doing. Table time is still DEFINITELY king for you right now. I have zero experience in arm wrestling but just from watching Larry's arm wrestling videos I would have thought false grip pull ups on olympic rings would be the best accessory exercise for arm wrestling. The unstable rings force the entire chain from lats to wrists to stabilise and the isometric hold of false grip would help keep your wrist locked.

Larry's bicep looks so cool, more like a blessing than an injury!
@markellis68983 жыл бұрын
I don't have a lot of experience at arm wrestling (only a spectator), however, as a youngster I had extremely strong biceps, however, a friend with maybe 70% of my bicep strength could beat me. This fellow then recommends chinups as the best exercise with any grip. Chinups definitely activate the biceps to a degree, however, not to the extreme (to failure), the muscle group most activated is the lats and the hands only minimally. From everything I have heard the hand is much more important than the bicep and if you have no side pressure you can have as much back pressure (biceps and lats) as you want and you won't win. I would need to know how many champions this fellow has trained before I would take on any of his advice. You are much more powefull in the eccentric (lengthening of the muscle) phase so the person using biceps in backpressure is exhausting himself much more than his opponent. If you can take someone's hand with a stronger bicep then he loses all of that power and has only side pressure left to (possibly) win with. Someone with a strong hand and lats could completely negate a strong bicep as the lats are much more powerfull (and with much more endurance) than even the strongest biceps.

Heavy table training once per week with people stronger than you. Work all the angles inside and out. That’s how you get good at armwresling
@darkdevil65084 жыл бұрын
He is doing exactly that. You don t need to fight someone stronger than you at the table to practice correctly. You re not in the gym trying to build muscle. That mindset is 100% wrong for a begginner or an amateur even an intermediate. He needs to learn proper technique , build solid condition of his muscles tendons and joints and train specifics at the table and/or gym. This means at least 2 years . And after that he will still be just intermediate level regardless of how much he improved. He needs training partners that can hold him at 70-80% of his strength. That s enough. Past that only means risk of injury and it just isn t worth it when you can train smart and have same results.
@plutovxbes21844 жыл бұрын
Dark Devil your sort of right sort of not. There is simply no other way to improve at armwresling besides armwrestling. Sure you can do armwrestling specific weight training but it will never be a good substitute for the real thing. Larry already knows technique. Sure he’s still a beginner but he knows how to not break his arm and how to hook and toproll. All he needs now is a few years of table practice to strengthen his tendons and ligaments with some armwrestling specific training on the side as supplementation. And also sure you don’t need to train with someone stronger than you. Right now I train once a week with someone weaker than me , but it’s far better to train with a stronger person because nothing makes you stronger than pulling with someone you can’t beat because of the intense stress of the negative load on your arm
@darkdevil65084 жыл бұрын
@@plutovxbes2184 I agree you need to train with stronger people eventually. But that happens when you have a solid foundation that can not be built earlier than 2 or 3 years of consistent training and a decent grasp of all the technique. But the thing is , Larry doesn t know how to atmwrestle. He doesn t know how to hook or toproll properly. His toproll especially is extremely bad technique wise. His hook only works because of his ridiculous strength and weight. I mean literally he didn t knew he had to / how to squeze his fingers before and during armwrestling until a few weeks ago. Can you imagine how much technique he is lacking just based on this single fact? Look at his training videos with his new romanian coach. He always points out he is doing it wrong and corrects him every moment. Really man he can t be training with stronger people right now. He needs to focus completely on technique, condition, angles and literally nothing else with extreme conscious control so he feels what he is doing and what must be done and what shouldn t be done. I argue he needs at least 6 months before he even considers using close to 85% of his strength until he teaches himself how to actually armwrestle and what armwrestling actually is.

Now that I’ve seen some of the things they have been getting you to be doing, I would have to say they aren’t teaching you the best movements for armwrestling, a lot of it is useful information but I believe there is more effective methods, any of the cable machine work they get you doing will be the most beneficial as you can fully train for Armwrestling with a cable machine a table and multiple attachments, I would recommend watching some of Coach rays videos as well as Devons and Ryan Bowen’s, look at their attachments and try to simulate something similar. Larry trust me when I tell you this, cup and roll, those are the two key things, work only on cup and pronation, you are strong enough not to need more bicep strength focus on hand strength as schoolboy will just take your hand so easy and the match will be over, cup and roll Larry, cup and roll
@AW-Luke4 жыл бұрын

Both Coach Ray and Janis use alot of pullups aswell. I think its usefull for Larry to actually learn to use static strength. I was a pretty strong guy when coming into armwrestling, but I couldent translate that to static strength. And also, Larry dont have the ability to stay tight and connected, and there the pullups come into play with learing him to connect everything from the lats to the fingers. I agree that cupping and pronation should be up there as a focus. But we dont know what he is going to do with cupping and pronation (and wrist work in general) rest of the week. This was only one workout. So we Will see. It Will be interesting for sure!
@AW-Luke4 жыл бұрын
benchpressandbeer to be fair that is true, I never thought about the fact his static may not actually be as strong as I would think, I know what Janis and Ray also do those movements but Larry is much stronger in the gym than those guys, but I honestly believe Larry would benefit most from cupping and pronating because schoolboys main weapon is a top roll and he will crack Larrys wrist like nothing currently, I feel like he needs to primarily focus on hand and wrist
@AW-Luke4 жыл бұрын
benchpressandbeer but I do agree with what you are saying, but in the limited time frame I think he will benefit from not gaining arm strength or power just getting a better hand and wrist, I honestly think no matter how he trains schoolboy will beat him easily

Good approach. But if we talk about boxing or armwrestling - it is dynamic action with changing of degrees, where efficiency of some muscle can be 50% and lower at some degree or dynamic change. As muscles that are connected can be not efficiently connected and you have efficiency pit with brain stopping you as you can be damaged. So you can lift 200 kg on biceps. If effeciency is 30 % in some position + dynamics - not even schoolboy can stop you. Secret of monsters is pretty simple. Hands degrees are based on solid work with legs. So if you want update it finding your solution for you, changing of muscle connectors, its % of efficiency together with more endurance of heart etc you must include legs. When you sit put bar on legs staying on front side of feets. Kick with flexible response. You develop biceps ALREADY WITH RIGHT DEGREES FOR YOUR BODY FOR ROTATION OF FOREARM, SHOULDER. BRINGING MAX % OF EFFICIENCY AND MIN % OF DAMAGES. So it is one of fundamental mistakes of Tsyplenkov. Laratt. Brzenk. Hands are developed based and together with legs not only because you act on walking - your antropology, heart, organs, are developed based on work of legs. So if they don't work - hands are working from this base. You can change it through base forming activities with exact direction. Not finding it. And it is base for future layers development as how they can start growing without overperfect fundament THEY ONLY BASED ON?! 🤣 And ONLY?! Information for them appear, enough, how they will work, look like, after some completness and perfection just like you can't make computer grafics with some math without complete hardware and software realizing this math. It is not building higher building. ANOTHER building. Where next floor is NOT SAME. It is formed by complete sides SWITCHING FORMING ON OR IT IS OFF. Change feets positions, play on calves helping you. Combinate with palm changes HAVING FUN. With stuff brain produces for RIGHT development. ENJOY YOUR WORK. 😉😊
