If you want to do it right, get a bearing splitter otc 1121-1130 or otc 1183 (Bearing Splitter Combo Set) that clamps/forces itself behind the bearing to allow you to pull it off. You will need to connect a t bar push puller to the splitter (5/7/10/17/30/50 tons with different length legs, up to 24 inches, that screw into the bearing splitter), instead of a two or three jaw puller. This setup allows you to apply heat while applying pressure at the same time. There are manual and hydraulic kits. Kits are usually cheaper lol. Get ready for sticker shock (otc 1680 17-1/2 and 30 Ton Hydraulic Farm Implement Set), there’s a 30 or 50 ton kit, or otc 1682 (17-1/2, 30, and 50 Ton Master Puller Set). How much is your time worth and the aggravation of not having the right tool. Or you can jerry rig/make your own homemade one if it will hold up to the pressure applied/tonnage.

Easiest way to get an inner bearing race off shafts on a combine is knock them apart. And than take a 3” cutting wheel on a die grinder or 3” cutoff tool. Put a cut in the out side of the race parallel to the shaft and just cut down through to the shaft. You don’t have to cut through the entire width of the race but has to be as close to the shaft as possible. Than take a good heavy chisel than can wedge itself into the cut and hit it. It will split the bearing race and just slide off the shaft by hand. Have done this on combines and anything else need working for the dealer here

"Hi Larson Farms, I really enjoy your videos and appreciate how you share the realities of farming life with all its challenges and triumphs. I noticed the recent engine issue and the oil spill in the field, and I was wondering if you have any plans to clean up the spilled oil before planting again. I’ve heard that oil in the soil can affect future crops and the environment, and I’d love to hear how you’re addressing this situation. It could even be a great topic for a video-showing how farmers handle unexpected setbacks like this responsibly. Thanks for all the hard work you do and for sharing it with us!"

For that bearing race, If you take an air die grinder with a cutoff wheel on it, and work it perpendicular to the bearing so rather than cutting across it, and instead the wheel in the same direction as the bearing channel. And work back and forth into it you’ll thin it enough it turns blue, smack it with a chisel and it’ll split and come off easy

Your intro talks about being in the Rhubarb! I am 62 and remember being given a cup of sugar by my grandmother and sent to the rhubarb patch as a young boy in Iowa! That was a sweet treat in a time when sugar cereal and all of the sweets that our overweight young people enjoy today even existed! Believe it or not, fast food was almost non existent and when it was enjoyed, it was only during special occasions.

He is actually referring to being in the weeds/tall grass. Not actually in rhubarb
@MrHurricaneFloyd24 күн бұрын
@@henrykelsey3507 The slang term actually has its roots in "the rhubarb" meaning out of line or in trouble. In a jam, or in the rhubarb jam. But it is easy to make the logical connection to being in the weeds with equipment which is what the Larson family seems to have done.

I've always found that the be the easiest way to get the inner race of a burnt up bearing out. Just make sure you don't cut all the way threw or you risk scoring the shaft. Hope this tip helps you out next time around.
