The laser is certified when closed, but when using this conveyer, it would be better to let your kids use protective goggles. Reflections will not blind them directly, but in time it is harmfull. Apart from that, nice review !

I’ve read that engraving poker chips can emit toxic fumes. Are you using a specific type/brand in your video. Any concerns about using poker chips in general? Thanks

Thank you very nice. But the ferry and the wooden coins were totally misaligned on some parts which gets me nervous about my preorder. With expensive stock you can't just destroy 20 percent. How bad is it? I need it dead center not just OK...

I think if you need that much accuracy, you need to be doing the framing yourself with the preview laser, not with the camera. The Camera is nice for previewing things, but it's a camera, and you need more than one to really be accurate. The more skewed it is to one side or the other, the more distortion it will have. It's just the nature of optics. I do wonder if there is a way to calibrate for camera distortion on this. As far as batch processing, you could still do incredibly fast and accurate processing by setting up jigs that are specifically placed and specifically repeatable because of the foot pedal attachment or the panel to control the machine. It probably just adds 10 seconds to the time and isn't as mindless. The conveyor attachment is more for setting on it and just letting it run. For larger, less valuable materials, it seems awesome. For smaller, more valuable materials it probably requires more upfront planning and specific execution to guarantee success. It's also only gen1 of this tech and I am certain it will get faster and better in the future.

@@thenightninja13 thank you for your detailed answer. This helps a lot. That the camera distorts in the corners is also new to me. I just thought there should a calibration option yes… I really think about cancelling the preorder because for the same money I can buy a Chinese’s 40 watt fibre laser or even a MOPA laser. I just bought it because I thought it is more convenient with camera, placement, safety glass… but if the camera is just mediocre than I have to rethink…

@@chrisr1241 Completely fair. I am keeping mine because of material versatility, multi-laser passes creating unique effects that are not possible otherwise using both diode and fiber lasers and small footprint comparatively to other machines. The Conveyor is going to be a cheap batch processing device for me and I do hope it gets better with updates overtime, but it is possibly a waste of time/money, and I am nervous about it myself. "Justin Laser" has a youtube review that was really honest and interesting to me if you need more thoughts on the camera issues. There are cheaper machines out there. If you are just doing metal, I would recommend ordering one of those more specific machines for that because they will be faster and more capable of deep engraving.

The problem is that Xtool and SOME (not all) of their paid "testers" have touted this machine's ability to do batch processing accurately. This review was honest and demonstrated the laser's strengths as well as its weaknesses. Great review!

@@jackjfb8439 One of my biggest pet peeves about reviews I have watched is misplaced deep engraving on coins. I can't stand seeing misaligned engraving on a coin. That alone tells me the camera isn't accurate for framing. It's close enough for some things, not for high detail/edge to edge engraving.

A lot of the circular ones look quite off-centre?

Can the software pull in serial numbers from a SQL database? Or from a text file? Alternatively, can you control the controller from a PLC or through ethernet, or serial?

Are you able to do a score and engrave when on conveyor since it has to be grouped?
@SixEightWoodworks6 ай бұрын
I don’t believe so, but I can look into it.

Is this capable of etching Stainless Steel?
@SixEightWoodworks6 ай бұрын
Absolutely. Can etch and even engrave or emboss deep.

@@SixEightWoodworks hrmm... i have one project for my car to do. Going to have to find a capable laser to use locally (or just find you since you're local based on your team affiliations. Go Kraken). Last I checked, the laser we had at work wasn't capable (it's a big ol older model.)
