I have been using irestore helmet and (shampoo, conditioner, liquid drops and vitamins) for about 8 months and I will say it works. For me it wasn't a miracle but it did grow new hair and my hair feels a lot healthier. I didn't take anything else and I will say it works. To be clear I'm not bald but definitely balding. I would say I lost about 30% of my hair and now it's more like 20%. It's not perfect but I'm still happy with the results and I continue to use all these products.

Nor would I make any videos about them. That said, this thing isn't going to make a bald go grow a full a head of hair ever. I'm barely turning 22 in the next few weeks.. My hair is pretty good, but one of my corners looks just about.. half an inch or a quarter of an inch receded or thinned out, not sure.. Either way... I heard it's best to prevent than to try to reverse the damage/loss SOOOOOO HERE I AM lol. I've been learning a lot these last 3 days, I highly recommend moreplatesmoredates, that dude knows what he's talking about, explains so many things on his site and its relatively easy to understand. What I've learned, Avoid Minox as a last resort because it potentially has many very bad side effects compared to stuff like Finasteride. What you want to do is BLOCK DHT. Finasteride (1mg a day for adults) is the recommended dosage it seems on different sites, and this blocks DHT by up to like, 60% I think, it also even has helped regrow hair in some folk. Next, you want to give your scalp some massaging or in this case, some laser/led therapy, basically you want it to be stimulated. At the corners of our head is where there's the most tension, that's where we go bald first, (Think: The Norwood hair-loss type) usually, and it's because as we get older, these areas, around the temple is where the scalp/skin tightens and it has a negative impact on our follicles/stimulation. You need these areas to keep being stimulated somehow! Blood must be in good quantity here! Minoxidil is also bad cause it does not address the underlying issue which is THE MINIATURIZATION of the Hair follicles (eventually dead follicles) which is caused by DHT, the by-product of Testosterone. Testosterone is not the sole chemical in our bodies that will make us bald, it's really just a matter of how well we RESPOND TO IT, some of us just don't respond well to it, genetics are a good place to look but NOT 100% ALWAYS THE THING THAT WILL DETERMINE YOU TO BE BALD like your Ancestors lol, sometimes it can skip a generation! I've read stories! Also, Hairloss can be due to a very large number of things, even something like Stress, or COVID 19, basically your body going through a lot, so your hair can halt development to focus on repairing more important stuff. The lack of certain Vitamins/Minerals can also cause this, like Zinc and/or Iron or something called Ferritin, which I think is the same as Iron, or it can at least be found in foods high in Iron it seems. A leaky gut can also cause hairloss, if you have this, then you don't absorb all your Vits/Minerals which in turn obviously will effect your hair and overall health. Other things to keep in check are Vitamin B12 levels and a Thyroid deficiency Here are some random links that helped me get a grip on all this shit. I been reading from 5 AM to 1 PM... I need sleep... Capillus makes excellent caps as well. They have lots of lasers...the main drawback for me was the fact the unit I had (I think all their units, but I'm not 100% sure) doesn't have a timer or battery level meter, and only runs on battery power. So it would often run out of battery or be out of battery when I wanted to use it unless you charged it in between each use, but generally I thought it's bad to charge battery operated devices fully after every single use, so that's why I didn't.

David, you are right about iGrow Laser. The little legs did fall apart within a year I was using it. I’m so frustrated with it and it does hurt when the helmet is sitting on my head. I have to put tissues underneath so it doesn’t hurt. It also does NOT cover the whole head and I really need the laser on the sides of my temple as I’m losing hair there too (I’m a female). When I called the manufacturer they told me to just move the helmet on my side and do another 25 minutes on each side. The problem is that’s a total of a long 1 hr & 15 minutes and I get a headache after awhile plus I get so anxious while sitting that long. That’s why I went to youtube to check if there is anything better out there. I’m glad you educated us on this. If iRestore laser lights covers the whole head, this is what I need. I spent $375 with iGrow 4 years ago but sitting for 75 minutes is way too long for me it actually stressing me out after awhile and plus a headache when it is that long especially since I have to do it 2-3xs a week. I need to save some money for the iRestore but yes, the laser lights do work better than the minoxidil. I did them all!
@DavidDiMuzio7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. iRestore definitely covers more of the head than iGrow and is much more comfortable to use. To my knowledge there aren't any laser hats that really cover the sides of the head as well so that could be an issue. Fortunately with a batter pack (as opposed to iGrow that is only plugged into the wall) you can move around and do whatever else you want if you did need to use the helmet multiple times across different areas... you wouldn't just be stuck to the wall.

Every different article I read says iRestore is inferior because it uses LEDs and the others use actual, medical grade, LASERS, Capillus in particular is made in the USA which means better quality control vs iRestores which are from CHINA. I'm so damn confused now. Also not as much research on LEDs vs lasers. OK UPDATE: I JUST READ IN THE DESCRIPTION OF IRESTORES HELMETS (yes both the Essential and the Professional helmet) after hearing this @3:04 and it has BOTH LASERS AND LEDS. now I understand why he recommended this.
@DavidDiMuzio4 жыл бұрын
Yes, iRestore's helmets also use medical grade lasers. The studies iRestore did showed that a combination of LEDs + Lasers was more helpful than lasers alone. That's why their helmet has both.

Hey David, Thank you for responding to my last message. Also, really in-depth review on lasers. I personally used the laser comb (spent a fortune on it) and didn't really have much success.....and now it just sits in its fancy case in my closet (I would love to sell it). That being said, it really put me off using any kind of laser all together. I'm still on the fence about purchasing an iRestore helmet just because there are a lot of reviews out there that indicate that it is not effective, plus it is expensive. However, there are studies out there that also show it has been proven to be effective in maintaining some of the hair on the scalp, but not really regrowing it. And it is more convenient in terms of usage then the laser comb ever was! But lets be honest, for men going bald, anything helps especially if you can keep the hair you have without losing any more. I just had a couple more questions that I forgot to ask you last time: 1. What Norwood were you on the Norwood Scale before you went for your first hair transplant? 2. What Norwood are you at right now? 3. I remember you said you had a couple FUT (strip) surgeries with Dr.Bolton but on one of the surgeries he left a rather large, unsightly scar on the back of your hear. Did you ever get that fixed via FUE or Micropigmentation (I know you had micropigmentation done on the top of your scalp which was done by Dr. McGrath) 3. Have you ever PRP Treatment, and if not, will you? 4. In your previous response to my question you mentioned FUE, but I thought you only had FUT (strip).....are you going to be getting FUE in the future if you continue to lose more hair? Thank you once again man, like I mentioned before your videos are really helpful and inspirational.....I also watch your music videos (not just the hair ones ;).....keep up the good work man and I wish you all the success in the world and please keep on updating us with your progress and hair and music videos. Thanks!!
@DavidDiMuzio7 жыл бұрын
1. I was around Norwood 5 -6 before my first hair transplant. I've had three strip surgeries. Two with Dr. Bolton. The second one was right before Dr. Bolton was committed to a mental institution against his will and lost his medical license in TN. So for obvious reasons and some not as obvious like the scar you mentioned I had my third FUT procedure with Dr. McGrath. I've had one SPM session with Dr. McGrath, but it takes around 3-4 sessions to complete. 1st session is usually not very noticeable for a bunch of reasons I won't go into here. I'm excited about the procedure though. For the right candidate which fortunately I am it's a no brainer. 3. Never tried PRP. I don't plan to in the future, but who knows. 4. I've only had FUT. In the future I will probably have some FUE work done to fill in my crown in particular, but as of now I'm basically just maintaining. I just had some more thinning when i went off Finasteride a little over a year ago. It's been a little over 2 years since my last transplant. Happy to hear you're enjoying my music as well :)

The selection process is so confusing. David here says a mix of lasers and LEDs are good, therefore irestore is the way to go, other people say the more laser the merrier i.e. a cap like capillus that has all lasers and no LEDs is the way to go. It seems caps that have more laser are more expensive. $3000 for capillus pro vs $1195 for irestore pro. I wish there was a final conclusion if we should go for more lasers counts in the cap i.e. capillus or for a less laser counts but mixed with LED i.e. irestore? Also, I'm reading some reviews that say irestore is more for people who want to recover only on top of their head vs capillus can help on top and on sides, is that true?
@AnujGupta0274 жыл бұрын
Hi, I also seem to think that more lasers would improve the efficacy of the product, therefore I'm also leaning towards the capillus vs iRestore. I'm also a little wary of iRestore because of the aggressive marketing. Besides, there's no sound evidence saying that LED light is useful; it's just something David believes to be the case (likely because he's a paid endorser). I'm willing to have more objective discussion on it and doing reviews of scientific studies. The rest of the internet, unfortunately, is not the most reliable resource as reviews seem to be influenced by kickbacks even when it's not entirely obvious. Not to mention that most products seem to use varying degrees of lighting and magnification while showing their before and after pictures or videos. Usually they use way more shiny lights and magnification for the before pictures and a poorer haircut.

@DavidDiMuzio7 жыл бұрын
Laser combs had very few lasers, were very expensive and such a pain in the ass to use (I know I had one) that basically no one was consistent with them. Even if they were it would only shoot the laser for a few seconds and then you'd move it. These lasers helmets sit on your head for 25min at a time, are around the same cost a laser comb was, and are MUCH more convenient to use. The laser comb was I guess the right I idea just horribly executed.

I started using the laser helmet after I'd already lost a bunch of hair and had hair transplants. Hello David. Did you know that the battery pack is sold separately at $79 usually with a $20 Discount code for $59. I was under the impression that it was all inclusive. Kind of sucks. Thoughts?
@DavidDiMuzio6 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, personally I really like having the battery pack since I’m quite active and am usually doing things while wearing mine. I accidentaly forgot to mention the battery pack fee in my video. I do these videos impromptu based on what it’s my mind at the moment I shoot them, and I don’t always get in every piece of info I’d like to or every accurate figure. I’d like to. It’s just a lot to remember while shooting. ...In case it helps ..I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback as well as negative feedback on the fact I’ve made these videos endorsing iRestore and my use of the product. Seeing before and after pics that guys have sent me since posting this video though has definitely further securred my belief in the product even deeper than prior to posting. Not everyone has significant improvement, but enough guys do that I feel like it’s worth my own time for sure. I use mine religiously every other day. I’ve been meaning to post some before and after pictures a guy recently sent me that blew me away. I just need to take the time to make another video about it. No matter what kind of laser device you get I would suggest you get some brand’s device if you’re experiencing hair loss. I would anyway. Good luck :)

I'm sure you'll be getting a positive benefit from any of the laser hats/helmets mentioned, Each one claims their laser or combination of LED/Laser ...etc. is better. I'm not a laser expert well enough to say and my personal feeling is that they all basically do the job laser wise, that's why I chose to discuss more the practicality of using them and comfort ...etc. since that's where I feel they all differ quite a bit in practical every other day use.

What kind of lifestyle do you recommend to keep your hair longer. I bought the the product however I feel that I should not rely on this. My mom’s father baldness was noticeable in his late 30’s and my dad baldness began to be noticeable in he’s early 40’s. My dad still has hair on top now that he’s 52 but is very thin. I’m only 27 and my hair in the temples already look thinner than they used too look. My mom half brother got bald age 33. I don’t want to be bald so young.
@DavidDiMuzio7 жыл бұрын
There's not really much you can do "lifestyle" wise unfortunately. I eat very healthy and exercise and drink lots of water (always have) and I still went bald. It's just genes. Laser is a great preventative treatment if you use it consistently. If things start looking much worse you might want to try a topical finasteride compound, they are quite expensive though. Probably around $100 a month, or you can go the cheaper route and pop the finasteride pill. It's strong stuff and works, there are just more potential side effects, though in fairness MOST guys don't experience any negative side effects.

I'm getting it in 3 months, and I have been told not to start Finasteride/Minoxidil until AFTER the surgery is complete. Any thoughts? Is the laser acceptable prior to surgery?
@DavidDiMuzio4 жыл бұрын
The laser helmey should be fine to use prior to surgery. That's very strange that you're doctor told you not to take finasteride prior to surgery. Most of the surgeons that I know recommend their patients get on finasteride prior to surgery. It's actually an important part of the process pre-surgery. Minoxidil is different. It's better to do that after the surgery. Or at least be off it a couple weeks before the surgery starts. You might want to look a little harder into who you are planning to do the surgery with, because I find the advice to not start finasteride a couple months before the surgery weird...
