The 18% fee is if you return before 12 months. It is a little tricky in that you need to request return between days 365 and 400. They are trying to get you to use the product for the 12 month period before trying to return to see maximum benefit before throwing in the towel.

When I was a teacher in South Korea, all the female teachers pitched their money together to get one of these types of helmets for the office and we all took turns using it once classes were over. It became a running joke for the principal to pause every time he stepped into the teachers lounge when he saw one of us using it. ^^ I will say that my hair was longest it's ever been while I was over there, and I definitely think this type of therapy played a role.

Great question! Using your LED face mask for hair regrowth isn't recommended because it is specifically designed for skincare and lacks the optimal technology and light delivery that hair regrowth devices provide. For hair regrowth, we have developed specialized devices, which utilize Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) to penetrate deeper into the scalp and stimulate hair follicles effectively. Our devices are specifically engineered to deliver light energy to the scalp at a wavelength and power level that encourages hair growth. Placing a face mask on your head wouldn't provide the same concentration of light energy needed for effective hair regrowth. For the best results with hair regrowth, it's better to use a device specifically designed for that purpose.

I appreciate your videos and watch for them daily! I'd love to use RLT for my hair loss and thinning. However, I take NSAIDs and get cortisone injections. I read online that these meds make RLT ineffective. I asked my doctor about this, but she admitted she doesn't know. Can you please tell me if what I read is accurate? ...thank you!
@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hello! Research on low-level light therapy (LLLT) and its interactions with medications like NSAIDs and cortisone injections is still limited. Generally, LLLT is considered safe and effective for promoting hair growth, even for individuals taking these medications. NSAIDs typically don’t affect the efficacy of red light therapy, but they can reduce inflammation, which might influence hair growth indirectly. As for cortisone injections, while they can help with inflammation and hair loss in some cases, there’s no strong evidence suggesting that they would significantly impact the effectiveness of LLLT. That said, individual responses can vary, and it's always best to monitor how your body reacts. Since your doctor isn't certain, I recommend continuing to consult with a specialist in hair loss. If you decide to proceed with LLLT, keep track of your progress, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more questions!

Hi. Dr. Dray, Thank you for this video. I bought the iRestore’s Professional model about 8 months ago because I noticed a lot of shedding and thinning of my hair. My hair is still shedding but learning that shedding 100-200 hairs a day is normal makes me feel better. I think my hair is growing because I can see baby hairs I am very consistent in my use of the IRestore helmet. Is the Elite better than the Professional or is the difference just the time and frequency of use ( every other day for 25 minutes vs. daily for 12 minutes)? Thanks, Dr. Dray!

@dorayoung1073 it seems the elite might be better since sje used the professional before, then switched to the elite. Personally, i find this frustrating as shortly before they came out with the elite, i saved up and splurged on the professional. Ive seen very limited help, if any. And if i had known they were soon to be releasing a better model, i would have waited and used the funds toward the latest one. By the time i save up for the elite, they will have released the next level....

The Elite has a higher power output (2,500 mW) compared to the Pro (1,410 mW). The Elite has triple wavelength technology (only device on the market). The Pro has single wavelength. For more information you can take a look online under "Compare Devices"

Hi Dr Dray. One of my biggest concerns with me deciding to use a device like this or not is increased hair shedding or complete hair loss ? There are quite a bit of reviews out there with people that have used these irestore helmets, and they have said that their hair shedding was overwhelming when using this device. In some cases people have also said that this caused them to lose a lot of their hair permanently instead of this helping to grow new hair for them. What is your take on this, and can these irestore devices cause permanent and irreversible hair loss ??? Thank you
@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hello! In general, while some users do report experiencing increased shedding when they first start using LLLT devices, this is often a normal part of the hair growth cycle. This initial shedding can happen as older hairs make way for new growth, a process known as the “shedding phase” or “telogen effluvium.” Most people find that this shedding subsides and is followed by new hair growth over time. As for the concern about permanent or irreversible hair loss, LLLT devices like iRESTORE are designed to be safe and non-invasive. There is no substantial evidence suggesting that they cause permanent hair loss. Instead, many users report improvements in hair density and thickness with consistent use. However, individual responses can vary, and it’s essential to follow the recommended usage guidelines. If you're still feeling unsure, I recommend discussing your concerns with a dermatologist or a hair loss specialist who can provide personalized advice based on your situation. Remember, it's always best to approach any hair treatment with caution and to monitor your progress closely.

Don't forget too that companies continually come out with "New! Improved!" models so that their existing customer base will purchase *more stuff*. If the (original) Essential didn't work, 1) they wouldn't have built a successful company around it, and 2) they wouldn't be selling it any more, especially not with a money-back guarantee. Granted they might be making subtle improvements to the line, but don't let "New Model!" make you dissatisfied with what you already have if it's been working for you. :)

When you are on therapy for hair loss and the final step is applying minoxidil 5% do you wait for the hair to completely absorb the medication in order to use the irestore device before going to bed ? (Sorry just a silly question of mine 😅).
@DrDrayzday
@DrDrayzday 2 ай бұрын
this is a good question! If the minoxidil is still damp on the skin, you want to let it dry before using the device
@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hi! You can absolutely continue using topical minoxidil alongside the iRESTORE device. However, we recommend spacing out the applications a bit. Apply the minoxidil and allow it to fully absorb and dry on your scalp before using the device. This helps ensure the best results from both treatments and avoids any potential interaction between the product and the device.

I have alopecia areata. I discovered I had this and before I knew how to treat it I went bald on the front 1/4 of my hair. I know this sounds like an exaggeration but it is not. I was able to purchase this iRestore helmet for $750 on Amazon. They must have increased in price. I used this helmet as instructed and got steroid injections 3 times, about every 3 weeks. I am not kidding you - my hair was completely restored to about the same length in 6-7 months. I think this may be an anomaly but I can't recommend this regiment enough. It is worth it but be prepared: these injections hurt like hell!
@AllyKit
@AllyKit Ай бұрын
I’m sure it was the steroids not the helmet as they do work! Did your hair fall out after you stopped the injections? Mine did. Looked worse than when i started. So, not only did it hurt like heck, the baldness was worse and i thought it would never grow back. Devastating! Fortunately it did… to what i had in the first place. Now i have two inch long hair instead of 16” 😕 it’s not for alopecia areata.

Can you tell that texture is is going to mirror your current texture or is it closer to your younger self? Does this have any effect on the colour of new hair?
@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hi there! When using a low-level light therapy device, the new hair growth usually matches your current hair texture. Some people do notice slight changes in texture over time as their hair regrows, but this varies from person to person. As for color, new hair growth typically aligns with your existing hair color. However, factors like age, genetics, and hormonal changes can impact hair color, and it's not uncommon for gray hairs to appear as we get older. While the device can help stimulate growth, individual results will vary.

A temporary (and waaay cheaper) way of getting thicker hair is topical hair fibers. Brand names Toppix and Caboki are microscopic fibers made from cotton or wool that have been dyed and treated with a static charge. They come in lots of natural hair colors. You sprinkle it in your hair, and it sticks to the hair shaft and makes your hair thicker. It lasts until you wash out with shampoo. Cost about $25 for enough to last a month.

@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hi there! Using the iRESTORE Professional daily might not give you the same results as the Elite. The Elite has 500 lasers/LEDs compared to just 282 on the Pro, so it covers more of your scalp and provides more light energy, which can speed up regrowth. If you’re thinking about increasing your time with the Pro, definitely check in with your doctor to make sure it’s safe for your scalp and skin type. While the Pro works well, the Elite is a more powerful option for quicker results!

Can you please compare LED light and Laser used in hair growth masks/hats and facial masks? Which one is safe for what purpose?
@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hi there! While it might be tempting to use your LED face mask for hair regrowth, it’s actually not recommended. The mask is designed for skincare and doesn’t have the right technology or light delivery for effective hair regrowth. For that, we’ve developed specialized devices using Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), which target the scalp more deeply to stimulate hair follicles. These devices are engineered to deliver the right amount of light energy at the optimal wavelength for encouraging hair growth. Using a face mask wouldn’t provide the same targeted treatment needed for hair regrowth. To get the best results, it’s best to stick with a device specifically made for hair regrowth.

@iRestoreLaser
@iRestoreLaser Ай бұрын
Hello! If you’re feeling any scalp sensitivity or pain, it’s best to take a break and let your scalp rest for a bit. Once you’re feeling better, you can try shorter sessions, like 10 minutes in the morning and 15 in the evening, or just start with shorter times and gradually increase. If the discomfort doesn’t go away, stop using the device and check in with your doctor. Also, a little hair shedding at first is totally normal-it’s just the weaker hairs making space for thicker, healthier ones!

It may help hasten the regrowth, but the hair will come back. The change in texture and color is common with chemo, and sometimes it is a temporary change. The hair follicle cells are very sensitive to the chemo medications and may alter the type of hair that regrows
