Reminds me of those Lissajou patterns that were popular subjects for computer programs in the 1970s, or oscilloscopes or both ( can't recall specifics :)

Hi, I was wondering...in order to create any sort of interesting shape, does it have to be 512 and 256 hz or can I try this with any tuning fork I might have on hand? Thank you!

There are many possible shapes. In fact, connecting two keyboards which can emulate many possible frequencies to speaker cones that have mirrors hot glued to them (one that vibrates up and down, and the other vibrating left and right) can allow you to create fantastic shapes, some that seem to rotate in space. You can even send recorded classical music through those speakers and watch the resulting display. I wouldn't use nice speakers though. Gluing mirrors to the speaker cones damages them.
