Wow! Can the same technique be used on painted/stained wood or acrylic?

Absolutely! Just be very careful with making sure the BACK side of your jig isn't dirty or have any char that might rub off on unsealed paints or chalk paints.

What type of woods were you using, they are beautiful! (Curious if you use stains & veneers or simply just the plywood). Also, do you apply the 3M backing to sheets by hand or there is a faster way? Thank you so much!

Hi! Thanks for watching! The walnut backer is baltic birch stained with Varathane and the whiteboard is Duro Laserable whiteboard from JPPlus! For 3M, I use the 12" rolls with a brayer and adhere it with my hands, old school way! 😆

Any suggestion on what can be used as a sort of transfer tape for that adhesive? I bought a roll of it but didn't realize it didn't have the paper on BOTH sides! I've tried freezer paper, parchment paper, polycoated kraft paper, and nothing works - freezer paper and polycoated paper both stick permanently to the tape, and parchment paper doesn't release cleanly so it leaves a massive clumpy mess :(

Sorry for the delay! Can you confirm what you're needing to use transfer tape for? Are you applying the 3M to your material before cutting? With rolls, I normally back the material before I cut it on my laser. I use 12" rolls, but I also have 4" and 6" rolls for when I want to use it on scraps.

I tried the 3M tonight and it felt like it melted. It made the sides of my laser cut letters sticky. Any suggestions?

@@LoBoDesigns hey! So I have a SculpFun S30 10 watt machine. I used it on 1/8 birch plywood. I tried a couple of different ways - low and slow, high and fast, low and fast, high and slow🙃

Are you cutting with the 3M side facing up or down?

Try mirroring your design and cutting with the 3M side facing up! It'll be easier to test this with a couple small shapes on a scrap sheet corner so that you don't have to waste material!
