Only backwards compatible games aren't dead. All of those XBL Arcade titles are dead forever. unless you mod your xbox and "buy" them from some site, or emulate them. Even then, a lot of those games have no ISO dumps, making them impossible to play until someone decides to take a risk and upload them.

Im happy to see that Title Updates are still available. This leaves Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 the ability to get the DLCs that are in the game. You don't even need to purchase any DLCs in those two games because the title updates give you them for free, as long as you have the "Platinum Hit" of those two games.

@@Superman72185that is NOT true at all. DVDs are literally one of the most fragile optical supports. Some of my PS1 AND PS2 games stopped working entirely on their own during the years. And I take very good care of my stuff. Also many of my DVD movies also stopped working. DVD is just bad. Also, unlike digital which you can simply redownload, discs can be scratched, damaged, lost or stolen. Meanwhile, my digital games that I bought in like 2006 on the marketplace still work perfectly fine and will continue working on my Series X for many years to come, thanks to Microsoft’s wonderful backwards compatibility plan. I’m not saying digital is better. I’m just saying let’s not pretend physical doesn’t have any cons at allz

This is information that was already available. It seems people can't read. They literally announced that they were just removing the ability to purchase games on the 360 marketplace, not that the actual XBL service on the 360 was being taken down. Which means you can still download what you already purchased and update any games that were patched. You can also still play online games if you wish. We also already knew that most backwards compatible games would still be available to purchase. All of this was information readily available to people when Xbox announced the marketplace shut down.

I still find it strange that on an actual X360, when you select a game and go on the 'Game Details' section, then to go 'extras' (if the game had DLC), you can still see all the DLC that the game had, but you just can't download it through the system anymore even if it was free. You would think Microsoft would maybe address that with this shutdown, but it seems to me that they clearly didn't care.

Can't tell you how thankful I am for sharing this method! I've been planning to pick up Project Sylpheed down the line in physical and just found out this morning (somehow nothing else I watched or read mentioned it) that it had a free mission pack DLC. I tried the method you used to grab the Halo Mythic map pack and it worked for me! I know I'd never had this piece of DLC before, so confirming some free stuff that's not forwards compatible (at least there's no digital version of it for the newer consoles that I can see) can still be grabbed I guess! Did not work for the demo, but that's okay. Thank you so much for sharing!

I downloaded the demo of Portal: Still Alive for the XBLA before the store shut down. Today I bought it using this same method on the webpage. Tried launching the copy I had downloaded from before, but it still only registered as a trial. Went to my account on the console and re-downloaded it. The store you're looking at is for Xbox Series/ One/ UWP apps and games. The 360 store was hosted online as the Xbox Marketplace, that's gone, and with it, anything that's not backwards compatible, as well as the 360 arcade games, etc.

Whenever I was a kid my Dad made an Xbox live account. Many years later, now, and since it's still his account, I can't really do anything with it, unless I check what the login to his account is. This made getting any game and dlc... impossible... Until I downloaded my profile from my Xbox one and bought multiple DLCs for Gears of War 3 through MY account, then swap back to the old account, and it worked perfectly... I found that out 2 weeks before the shutdown.... I still wanted other skins.. and I wanted to buy the Snoop Dogg stage for Tekken Tag Tournament 2.. even if I can buy it on the Xb1 and then download it on my 360.. I don't want to update my 360 to have THAT menu.

There are games that are backwards compatible with the the current Xbox store, but unavailable, like Left 4 Dead/2, including DLC. Don't be surprised if they patched these exploits.

I wish i could of experienced all of the golden games before the XB1. But now owning a Xbox 360 I only got to play a few hours of the OG games before it all got shut down. Unfortunately I lost access to my original xbox account and had to just buy another 360 as well. Wish I did sooner instead of last minute. I just bought another Halo Reach 360 slim and got ALL of every Halo DLC downloaded along with Crackdown 1 and 2. Crackdown 2 was super fun. As for Gears of War I just bought all the 360 physical copies but I'll have to buy the 360/Xbox One digital download copies next. I'll probably mainly be playing Halo 3 and Reach online through Sunrise but I want to get another original xbox to play Halo 2 through Insignia. The 360 days were truly the best.

The reason why you cant download those games on your 360, is because they are original xbox games. For some odd reason they dont appear on your download history even if you buy them on newer consoles.

Pretty much right: i still have installed my original download of Ninja Gaiden Black, when it first came to the xb360, and it works well... some time ago i scoured the marketplace and pinned all the games and dlcs i have to my dashboard just to have it all at arm's lenght... the xbox backwards compatible version on the marketplace isn't the version i own, i can't download it, but my version is nowhere to be found... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I guess Ninja Gaiden Black won't ever be deleted from my hd. 😎🤟

Came here not long after the server shut down and a week before i went on a small buying spree mostly on DLCS. I preserved some stuff that I never got to play as a kid and honestly im pretty happy with the stuff I bought. Some examples are. -the BO1 zombie map DLCS like moon and call of the dead. -force unleashed 1&2 story DLC and skins. -Jedi knight(Jedi Academy) - as for other games i was able to obtain their DLCS and expasion packs a while back so i got a pretty decent preserved 360 library :D

It's nice to see someone actually do some simple investigation by booting up the console. You would think the console self-destructed, by the way social media is reacting. Having said that, it does suck that people who may pick up a used 360 can no longer buy the exclusive XBLA titles (around 47 titles according to Delisted Games). Then again, we've had like 10+ years to buy this stuff, in addition to Microsoft giving us a heads-up several months in advance. The way I look at it is, if you didn't buy these titles when they were available, you probably didn't want them to begin with. People love to care only when things are gone. The good news is most, if not all, of these titles are available if you are willing to sail the open seas. 😁🏴‍☠

I’ve been playing Diabolical Pitch for Kinect. I wasn’t given good information on what was exclusive. I wish I found your channel before hand. Still I got what I got and what I thought I might not be able to get. I also got Sonic Adventure DX because I was in a Sonic mood and never played it. I get the original might be less buggy. I just wanted them and been going since Generations rekindled that flame. Never played a lot of polygon Sonic it’s usually sprite.

@@laserfights Kinect was better for dance or full body games. Now the PS move was great for anything with accessories added to it. I tried Micheal Jackson Experience on it and I’m thinking nah this would be better without something in my hand. I haven’t played it yet but Sorcery seems like a good move game the controller itself is a wand. I tried a better a with Kinect game. It wasn’t great atleast not with the original model for 360 not sure about the improvements made with the One. Anyway I think it was Forza 4. I needed to get my hands wide and I think the Kinect wanted no interference whatsoever. It still had issues reading my hands. It wanted me to stand I think but I don’t want to sand up, I’m in a car. I’ll look at more reviews recent or past to make these decisions.

Yes buying on the website and downloading on 360 from download history works. I bought some more on sale BC games. FEAR 2, Lego Starwars TCT, EDF2017, FC3 Blood Dragon, Red Faction 2. They all are downloading fine. Also got Castlevania Harmony of Despair and some DLC. It's slow but it works.

The only thing that frustrated me about the pre-shutdown period was it wouldn’t let me buy Perfect Dark (XBLA.) I suspect this is because I bought the Rare Replay collection for Xbox One and I have noticed before on my Series X that for some reason I have both the Rare Replay version of both Banjo games and PD as well as the XBLA versions despite never remembering ever buying the XBLA versions and for some reason I theorize this messes things up on the 360 store somehow! I don’t know any other reason why. I’m just dumbfounded.

When I try to purchase the game through the 360, I get an error. I tried some 40 times and would keep getting the same error. 🤷‍♂️

@@mechaluigi7 Okay I understand. Before the marketplace shutdown, I went to grab Call of Duty 4 DLC and it was $10 on the console but for free on Xbox.com It looks like it's still free on the website, but it isn't on the system. I wonder if this is a similar situation.

I'm pretty sure only the store is closed. You can still download all your purchased games, use CD's and even play online. They never mentioned that the console will become unusable.

i love seeing people dusting off their old 360s. as for me, i never stopped playing! ive just kept playing minecraft xbox 360 edition as it feels like the perfect console edition. i dont really care about the lack of updates as most of the stuff in modern minecraft i never take advantage of 😅

The problem is games that aren't backwards compatible or games that arent BC that dont have discs. Those games wont ever be available to people without illegal meams which poses a big problem for game preservation.

It's is a huge deal a Lot of games are not well preserved and yes You might be able to play with RGH But You are not going to be able to earn achievements in your Main account. A Lot of those are completly lost forever

⁠@@izaysombies8854I own a RGH and I managed to get quarrel which has been down for a while now and if you have something like proto you can still use your main account and even without proto you can still use your main profile it auto block Xbox live so you don't need to really worry about

I hate the fact that any of the backwards incompatible games are gone now Microsoft needs to make a very important difficult decision to try and make those games backwards compatible again in fact I want every Xbox game in the world this means every Xbox 360 and original Xbox game to be backwards compatible with Xbox One and the series X

Not all games will have the error, but unfortunately I believe that GTA V would have the error because there is a newer version of it for the Xbox One. The games I've had luck for are games that run in backwards compatibility mode for the newer consoles. But this title appears to not run like that. I think that you will not be able to purchase it at all, so there probably isn't much harm in trying

I see you got the dishwasher in your download history like me but when I tried to download it I just get an error message, all other games etc in my download history work just not the dishwasher arcade game.😢 My advice is never delete it because it looks like a Microsoft issue that won't be solved.

if it was ever on the 360, the video method works. some stuff that was on the 360 is gone, eg, Dead Rising 1's demo, but the game itself is still available.

The xbox 360 market place may be gone now. But. Good. News. Buying games used for cheap. From the local thrift store and ebay and yardsales is great way to find games. For dirt cheap I also still play xbox 360 more than current gen xbox one and xbox series x/s. The xbox 360 is still very enjoyable and has great games. That can be bought used for cheap.
